Description
Grenades Revamped!
  • Alchemy is a subset of the Warrior skill tree. These abilities scale with Strength. I want this mod to feel balanced within an otherwise vanilla playthrough, so let me know if something feels too powerful. Thus far, almost all of the Alchemist skills are debuffs or damage-based, with a few exceptions. In the future, I plan to add more buffing abilities to allow warriors to play a more supportive role within a team.
  • Two traders in Fort Joy will now sell the new Alchemy Skillbooks, one trader in Reaper's Coast, and one more in Arx. With compatibility in mind, I did this by editing all 3 of the existing Warrior treasure tables: CheatBooksWarrior, ST_SkillbookWarrior, and ST_Skillbook_WarriorTrainer.
    In addition, I created new treasure tables and added them to the four affected traders; whether it was the Trainer or Trader tables was based on if the vendor is classified as a Trainer or Trader in the roottemplate. The two new treasure tables are: ST_SkillbookAlchemist and ST_Skillbook_AlchemistTrainer. If editing the original Warrior treasure tables caused compatibility issues, I can fix it; though it'd be easy enough to fix on your own if you're familiar with the editor.
  • The mod also includes new starting classes (Act I & Act II versions)
  • Right now, there isn't any custom Icon Art for the abilities, but that will be updated within the next couple months.
Traders
  • Doctor Leste, the female Dwarf in Fort Joy outside of Sahelia's cave, will sell the new Alchemist Skillbooks, as well as general ingredients for vanilla grenades, potions, and poisons.
  • Kalias, the Lizard warrior trainer in Sahelia's Cave (Frog Cave) in Fort Joy, will now also sell Grenades, Grenade Ingredients, and the new Alchemist Skillbooks.
  • Trader Haran, in the Driftwood Market, now trades Alchemist Skillbooks, Grenades, and Grenade Ingredients
  • Fionola, the female Dwarf warrior trainer in Arx, will now also sell Grenades, Grenade Ingredients, and the new Alchemist Skillbooks.
List of New Alchemy Skills
  • Added 12 new skills to GM and Story mode
  • All are modified or completely new types of grenade skills

  • Skill Descriptions:
    • Cocktail No. 14:
      This proprietary blend of herbs will try to charm all in a [1] radius.
    • Blessed Water Balloon:
      Creates a small blessed water surface with a [1] radius.
    • Fluoroantimonic Acid:
      HF-SbF5 is extremely corrosive, toxic, and moisture sensitive; very good for throwing at people, too.
    • Horrific Infestation:
      Plant the eggs of a vile parasite within a host and infecting them with a painful disease. After 3 turns, the parasite will explode from the host's chest, killing them.
    • Blessed Ice Grenade:
      This grenade creates a blessed ice surface.
    • VX Gas:
      This internationally banned chemical weapon explodes in a [1] radius dealing [3] damage and creating cursed smoke clouds, as having a chance to applying (55%) Diseased for 3 turns and (85%) Poisoned for 2 turns.
      Note that the increased payload reduces throw range to [2].
    • White Phosphorous:
      A horrific substance which deals [1] damage in a [2] radius and creates an unquenchable flame.
    • The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch:
      And the Lord spake, saying, First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.
    • Stun Grenade:
      Stun targets in a [2] radius and deal [1] damage to them.
    • Frostfire Grenade:
      This grenade unleashes a chemical reaction that does [1] damage in a [2] radius and can freeze all in range.
    • Blessed Oil Flask:
      Creates a blessed oil puddle with a 2m radius.
    • Fragmentation Grenade:
      An explosive-filled with nails that do [1] damage and may inflict bleeding on everyone in a [2] radius.
    • Water Balloon:
      Creates a small water surface with a [1] radius.

yea i was also wondering if it were possible to make this viable with the talents that effect grenades as well as porting it to the DE edition

Any way to make these affected by the Ambidexterous talent? They are grenades after all!

@TieFoon, if it didn't do a xenomorph thing, then it might be bugged. The "Infested" status effect is hidden in the game files, so it may be broken.

@Moop, So it really was supposed to be like a xenomorph thing, it's like the first thing i thought of when i read the description :P

Horrific infestation is supposed to be some Xenomorph baby shit and Cocktail 14 should be charm. Also, I'll reduce prices my next update.

I have now noticed something else aswell, the coktail nr 14 grenade that charms people, i noticed that the horrific infestation skillbook teaches the same skill, in other words there's 2 different skillbooks which teaches the same skill and i am guessing that the effect of the horrific infestation grenade is supposed to have a "Terrified" effect? correct me if i'm wrong but it seems out of place to have two skillbooks teaching the same skill, especially when they're called different things.

I just got this mod and made a new character with the alchemist, my only problem i've ran into so far with the alchemist trader in fort joy is that all the grenade skills costs 2000(ish) gold, 4000(ish) gold and 6000(ish) gold, that feels really overpriced, especially for a character that has just been made, and there's like no way to make that amount of gold you need for ALL the skill books if unless you do like everything in act 1 and sell a crapload of stuff.

My only suggestion so far, Lower the prices of the alchemist skillbooks. :)
