Description
"With your food basket and my food basket, the people will thrive." - Māori proverb

Nestled in the Bay of Islands at the top of New Zealand's North Island is a small estate that saw some of the most pivotal events in New Zealand's history take place. This estate, once home to British Resident James Busby, was the location for a large meeting between local chiefs and representatives from the British Crown, who on 6 February 1840 signed a landmark treaty that would form the bedrock of New Zealand's constitutional structure. The lands have since been vested as a national historic reserve for all New Zealanders, and every February play host to thousands of visitors who come to continue shaping the relationship between Māori and the Crown. Ingame, the Waitangi Treaty Grounds boost culture in all cities by +20%, and a further 5% in the city its built for every active Declaration of Friendship. Military Science is required.

Its just a shame it turns into a massive political circus every year. I wonder if Ngapuhi has tried to charge you for using this yet?

There's a strange irony to a wonder from one of the most peaceful countries is also one of the most useful for an aggressive conquerer.

As a Kiwi living far from home I love these little nods to our history. For the non-NZers here...if you ever get a chance to visit just do it. Friendly people and unspoilt by most of the worlds problems.

Is it going to be updated for BNW?

I appreciate this patriotic work of modding but I feel like for such an important part of our history that +1 happiness from courthouses is a bit underwhelming, wouldn't you? What if it gave you a free great person of your choosing or a social policy?
