I liked playing between both, and it would be cool if there were elements mixed together for the experience. I enjoyed the Extended's intro of the city, but it wasn't canon to the 2004 movie. The little gimmicks from the movie such as the news reports on the radio and tv, the sports store commercial, and the music still works between both.

Hope that helps!

Second difference I noticed: The intro level in the Extended version is a little longer, but you still end up at the gas station to begin. Extended version has you starting out at a CEDA Evacuation center in the city, go through the subway, and trek through the sewers to end up at the gas station.

DC's Intro: You immediately start at the top of the gas station. No trekking through a city.

Third difference: The finale level with the two tanks played a bit differently. The two tanks spawn at the same time, but you have to defeat them both before Hank's truck arrive. The holdout was a little more difficult, and it was cumbersome to repeat the level to have to wait until the truck arrives.

The DC version has one Tank spawning - You'll have enough time to beat him before the second Tank arrives. However, it's still played for them to stay alive within the same amount of time. Hank's truck should arrive while you're in the midst of fighting the tanks, allowing premature escape.

@Jake: The Extended version and the finalized version (Director's Cut) are separate. They'll appear as separate campaigns when selecting them.

One crucial part that could make-or-break the experience is the 1 MILLIONTH VISITOR EVENT.

- Extended version: If your team fails to prevent the visitors coming in, everyone dies. They wake up in the room preceding the water fountain, and you'll have to start over the event again. You won't respawn in the level's saferoom, but the one that has some dead zombies carrying weapons with safe doors scattered. You have to get the event right, or else you won't pass at ALL.

- Director's Cut version: If the last visitor passes through, you'll get a Midnight Riders song with a Tank spawn. This plays as normally as in L4D - If the last survivor standing dies, you'll start from the level's safe room. Different from the safe room where you have to find the keycard.

Does this work with DbD map Extended version? What's the difference between the two versions anyways if you don't mind me asking?
