Javelin is a British, man-portable surface-to-air missile, formerly used by the British Army and Canadian Army. It can be fired from the shoulder, or from a dedicated launcher known as Javelin LML—Lightweight Multiple Launcher. Capable of being vehicle mounted, the LML carries three rounds.

It was replaced in front line British service by the Javelin S-15, sold commercially as the Starburst surface-to-air missile in 1993 (radio frequency guided Javelin was retained for some time thereafter for training purposes), and later by the Starstreak starting around 1997.

The Javelin GL was hastily purchased by the Canadian Forces to replace the existing Blowpipe surface-to-air missile system that failed last-minute tests during preparations for the deployment to the Gulf. It was later replaced by the Javelin S15 until retired without replacement in 2005.(info from Wikipedia)

This is designed to be used for cold war scenarios and Addons.

Please subscribe and click "Rate" , if you like my mod. :D

Addon features:

- Javelin surface-to-air missile.

- Javelin surface-to-air missile launcher.

- Javelin Lightweight Multiple Launcher (LML) static launch unit that holds three missiles ready for firing.

- Ammo box with 20 missiles and 8 launchers (look in props section in the editor).

Missile and launcher features:

- The Missile is what is know as a Semi-automatic command to line of sight (SACLOS) missile using radio beam to get a lock on the target it must be within the aiming crosshairs to lock on to it once fired the missile will fly to the to the target and destroy it.

- The Missile has a max range of 5km.

- it is claimed to be virtually impossible to decoy it away from a target with flares.

- Battlefield obscurants, such as smoke or fog, can degrade the ability of the missile operator to see the target, and could potentially interfere with the missiles guidance. This is also the case (to a slightly lesser extent) in misty or rainy conditions.

- The training level of the operator is critical since, unlike infrared guided missiles, the operator has to track the target exactly with the sighting unit aimpoint (SACLOS). If the aircraft detects the missile it has the whole period of the missile flight time to engage in avoidance manoeuvres, which adds additional challenge to the missile operator's target-tracking task.

Future features:

- Custom 3d models and textures.

Known issues:

- None that I know of at the moment please report any bugs to me if you find any.

- The launcher is made up of various models from ARMA 2 and its DLCs.

- The missile model is a heavy modified stinger missile model from ARMA 2.

3rd party addons used in the screenshots:

- 3 Commando Brigades British Armed Forces Addons.

- Spearpoint: UK Armed Forces 1965-85

- Red Hammer Studios RHS: Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Special thanks to:

- Bohemia interactive for the base textures and models.

You should try to get into contact with the CUP devs to see if you could integrate this into their mod. Considering it is a complete system and isn't low quality they'd probably be happy to credit you and integrate it.
