7.38c (Core) Stylin' on Pango (Facet 1) Mid/Offlane
By ttvNewtonsLaw
Pangolier has fantastic mobility and stlyin' potential with his abilities. Use shield crash to jump up and down cliffs like a boss; use swashbuckle to deal damage while repositioning. Play on the edge with PogChamp heals from lifesteal/swashbuckle, and save your teammates with clutch heals from greaves. Play with style, play with grace....win or lose. Dante is not only stylin', he is a gentleman. So be gracious in both victory and defeat, as Dante would be too.

This guide is for both the Mid lane and Offlane. Over the last few patches nerfing the #$%@ out of Swashbuckle, and with the new "Double-Jump" Facet, Pangos build and playstyle is now going to be centered around Shield Crash and being tanky rather than Swashbuckle and damage. The extra barrier from double-jump can get to pretty crazy levels, so build items than give Pango sustain, tankiness, etc.

Early Game, I like to get a Bracer/Wraith-Band/Both, a wand, and an OoV. Orb of Venom combined with the slow from Shield Crash allows you to run down heroes with ease, the early stats are very efficient on Pango being universal.

You want to be able to SPAM shield crash and swashbuckle so I ALWAYS get Arcane Boots as my first main item. These naturally will upgrade to Greaves later on, but I often pickup a Vlad's first for the overall sustain. With just Vlad's, Greaves, and the Shield Crash barrier, you will find yourself incredibly hard to kill. From here, item choices will be a bit more dependent on game and matchup, but Aghanim's is an item I've been buying a lot after Vlads+Greaves. Decide whether you need to tank up more, or whether you are strong enough to start building a bit offensively. Aghanim's Shard is also still a very solid purchase and nice when you don't want to give up a slot.

Defensive/Tanky Mid-to-Late Game: Linken's Sphere; Vanguard/Crimson Guard+Pipe (stack those barriers!); Lotus, Solar Crest, Shiva's.
Offensive/Damaging Mid-to-Late Game: Eye of Skadi, Basher/Abyssal, Diffusal/Disperser, Maelstrom/Gleipnir.

Pango is a unique hero with unique abilites; they take practice! You will mess up sometimes, and even seasoned Pango players do from time to time. So don't worry about it. Rolling Thunder, Swashbuckle, and even jumping cliffs with Shield Crash....they're all things that take some time and practice to get the hang of. But if you embrace the style, and become the style....you will soon be Stylin' on Pango. GL, HF :)

To all who still use this build: first of all Thank you! I'd like to let you all know I will continue to keep this build up-to-date through new patches and changes to Dota. I took a small break from Dota recently, and I've been playing and experimenting a lot with Pango on this new patch to make the best adjustments to the build.

Thank you for supporting the build and GL HF kicking more butt with Pango in the future!
