Class 43 Grand Central Trains (Valenta)

Description
READ THIS BEFORE ASKING ABOUT UNLISTED CREATIONS -
As of May 2020 I will be slowly unlisting my creations. If you have them then good. If you enjoyed them and ever gave me constructive feedback then Thanks. However with the increase in reuploads predominantly of my herbie builds but not only that, I am no longer willing to spend time on this. Every time I come back a new meta changing feature has been added which renders my effort useless as I have to start again. As an aerospace engineering student I would far rather focus on my degree rather than dealing with kids around 10 reuploading my work. As much of a selfish action this is, I can't think of another resolution. A few people have asked for permission for editing which they were granted. Their work will be available for download.

Any comments and questions about missing creations made on my profile will be deleted.

Version 43GCC.1

This is a replica of the Valenta engined Class 43 as used by Grand Central Trains
This version has been optimised , Block count and usage has been improved.

HOW TO DRIVE THE VALENTA :
- Do not run through gears like normal. This causes wheelspin and with current broken BR physics - a derailment.
- Start from Gear 2 , then 4 and finally 5. Feathering the throttle is reccomended if you hear wheel sqeuak.
- At high speeds feathering the handbrake (space) is reccomended to avoid suspension damage.
- Reverse driving is dangerous. Only do so on flat ground to avoid engine/suspension damage.

The British Rail Class 43 (HST) is the TOPS classification used for the InterCity 125 High Speed Train (formerly classes 253 and 254) power cars, built by British Rail Engineering Limited from 1975 to 1982.

The Paxman Valenta was developed in the early 1970s for British Rail with the aim of using in both freight and passenger locomotives. However the engine ended up only being used in the two pre-production Class 41 and 195 production Class 43 powercars that were delivered to power High Speed Trains between 1975 and 1982.

The engine as originally fitted to the HSTs was designated 12RP200L and was a V12 four-stroke turbo-charged & intercooled diesel unit of 79 litres which developed 2,250 bhp at 1,500 rpm. The design of the Valenta was based on the Ventura which was fitted to the Class 29 diesel locomotives, amongst others. The engine is famous for the "Valenta Scream" on starting from rest, a distinctive high-pitched whine caused by the engine's turbocharger. In 1977, the Valenta received the Queen's Awards for Enterprise.

The class is officially the fastest diesel locomotive in the world, with an absolute maximum speed of 148 mph (238 km/h), and a regular service speed of 125 mph (201 km/h).

Grand Central is an open-access operator of train services in the United Kingdom, owned by Arriva UK Trains. It has operated passenger rail services on the East Coast Main Line from Sunderland to London King's Cross since December 2007; and from Bradford Interchange to London King's Cross since May 2010.
