First off:
IF YOU DO NOT USE SPY'S AND OPT FOR VANILLA, YOU WILL SEE MINIMAL TO MODERATE PROBLEMS. You can totally go without it, but there will be some floating things n stuff. Also anomalies such as "Circus" will basically be empty areas where you get hurt.



1986, Ukraine,
The Chernobyl NPP melts down, and creates the biggest nuclear power disaster in history. The area surrounding the disaster area, herefore referenced as "The Zone" is created after the immediate threat has gone. Mutations begin appearing in the local wildlife. The military takes interest in the area and begins investigating, sending scientists to take reports. In 2006, the C-Conciousness or Common Conciousness is created, and attempts to fix mankind's war issues. This fails and affects The Zone, creating mutants, anomalies and other events begin forming within The Zone. Artifacts are formed, which are normal items transformed by radiation and other elements, which contain supernatural effects such as weightlesnes, protection from elements, and of course emit radiation.

The C-Conciousness also builds up massive amounts of energy, which it releases in bursts known as "Emissions" or "Blowouts." These affect the weather within The Zone and cause anyone caught outside of cover, such as a house, to be immediately heavily wounded, and lose their minds, creating zombies. Most Stalkers, after the first blowout, were wary of this and rarely did anyone lose their lives to these unless very far from cover.

Unfortunately, in late 201X, a huge emission burst out. Not even those seeking shelter survived. The mutated creatures ran or died off, artifacts became increasingly rare, and nearly every Stalker except those in very deep shelter became zombified due to this emission. Stalkers now trust eachother even less, and zombified remains of previous Stalkers roam The Zone.




This map takes place within "Zaton", a selection of inhabitted land within the zone, lying just a few miles South of the Chernobyl NPP.

The map has been updated plenty and is coming into mod support as well.

Update as of 5/7/17: Added light mod support. These mods may be supported. Please tell me how the game works both with and without the mods and report any errors without these mods. Thank you.

I'm purposely keeping the number of vehicles very low even at full release, as there are no vehicles in STALKER without mods. Enjoy!



Only one mod absolutly required (SPY'S) plus one heavily recommended (PMK Gas Mask)

Work will continue on this mod as I have time again (thanks, winter!)

Areas fleshed out include pretty much everything except the "Resort", Sawmill, Burnt Farmstead, the Swamp, Oakpine anomaly, and the Krug complex.

I will also be adding mod support, but this will always only REQUIRE Spy's.

Hey I noticed that you're not getting the best of comments sometimes. I just wanted to say as a major stalker fan over the past couple years that you're doing a great job. Keep up the great work. Just from the screenshots I keep getting that Zone vibe. Great work Stalker!

Like I said, it's still getting buildings. There's plenty of detail taken in game accuracy. Have you noticed at all how the bridge is built? I've tried to make it as close to the game as possible by just building it out.

It takes a lot to build some of these places, my dude, especially when no in-game assets are super close to Stalker assets. I'm not going to add random buildings just to add buildings - it's based on a game, it's going to have that game's map layout. Also "Small?" it's literally on the largest map setting. I haven't gotten to the burning village, or wood mill yet, plus I haven't uploaded it with the the Antenna complex, Oakpine, or swamp areas yet, so it's missing some stuff.
