Hello and welcome to the FIRST ever Battlestar Galactica Shipset mod for Stellaris!

This is a minor, currently BETA (more like Alpha, but whatevs), mod that adds various ships from both the lore part and fan part of the SyFy series known as Battlestar Galactica.

Please note that this mod does not use any assets or models from the Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock game. All models are original works of art developed 5-9 years before Deadlock was even announced.

Downscaled Ships:

Currently, the ship list is as:

Corvette: Defender Escort
Destroyer: Valkyrie Battlestar
Cruiser: Jupiter Battlestar/Galactica (armored)
Battleship: Mercury Battlestar

Science Ship: Colonial One
Construction Ship: Flat Top Ship
Colony Ship: Unknown "Colargo" Biosphere Ship
Transport Ship: Bezerk Cruiser

Fighter: Viper Mk2
Bomber: Raptor
Launcher: Shuttle

All other models, such as models for stations, are currently set as Mammalian design... hopefully this will be changed in the near future.

-This mod is compatible with all DLC. And requires none to function.
-This mod is NOT CURRENTLY compatible with any mods that add or alter ship classes or mounts (such as NSC). It will eventually be compatible.
-Compatibility patch with Downscaled Ships is available in the section above.

-So I have kind of lost a lot of motivation to continue this mod, due to the one that ripped off the Deadlock models, but heh I'll keep this one up for when theirs gets taken down for copyright infringement. I'll continue working on it, though, and hopefully will have a NSC compatibility patch out soon.

-This is a BETA release, and as such, prone to bugs. Please keep this in mind.
-Ships are not scaled according to BSG lore, but rather to the Mammalian shipset. This is for balance reasons, and won't be changed. (Ex: the Bezerk should be the same size as the Jupiter... but transport ships are about 1/3ish the size of Cruisers, and so it's been scaled to 1/3)
-Check the thread "Goals" in discussions for upcoming, in dev, or planned features.
-I WILL NOT be utilizing any models or textures found in the game Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock, due to issues and fears regarding copyright infringement. I will only utilize models and textures created in FAN MADE productions and mods for other games, or one created by myself or future contributers to this mod.

Known Bugs or Issues:
-All weapon fire and engine effects generate from the center of the models. This is not a bug, it is merely something I am yet to change. After all, this is a BETA version.
-Colonial One textures are not aligned properly to the model. I have absolutely no idea why this happening, and will be getting help from a experienced texture creator soon.
-Several of the ships are glowing... I still have no idea why. A work around fix is to disable bloom, that should remove any glowing issues.


-Battlestar Galactica, both the 2003-2004 and the 1978-1980 TV Series/Movies, and all related marks, logos and characters are solely owned by SyFy (formerly Sci Fi Channel) and NBC Universal Cable. This fan production is not endorsed by, sponsored by, nor affiliated with SyFy, NBC, Universal Television, Sky One, or any other Battlestar Galactica franchise, and is non-commercial and intended for recreational use. No commercial exhibition or distribution is permitted. No alleged independent rights will be asserted against SyFy, NBC, or Universal Television.

This mod uses NO BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: DEADLOCK ASSETS, and never will. The models inside this mod are original works of FAN ART based on the original Battlestar Galactica TV shows and Movies; made long before Deadlock was even announced. Original disclaimer stands in correlation to this.

-All (currently as of 0.3 BETA) models and textures (except some minor changes) are created by Nightstalker61 and his/her team, creators of the Nightstalker's Universe Mod for Freelancer. All rights to the models and textures are reserved to Nightstalker61 and his/her team, and any models and textures created by Nightstalker61 and his/her team will be removed at his/her request.
--I did indeed attempt to communicate with Nightstalker61, but I and many others are currently unable to contact them. They seemed to have simply finished their mod, and then dissappeared... hopefully this will help me get back in contact with them. I still have some suggestions for NSU xD
---As said, I will take it down if they feel the need. It's not like I am stealing the models, anyone could easily get them by downloading his/her mod for Freelancer.

@RedSeven all the ships currently included are from either non-canon or from the new show. Check the second image center bottom ship. That's your new Battlestar Galactica model

Is the ship from the new BSG show in here? I don't see any screenshots of the new Battlestar Galactica, just older looking models.

If you look into the lore of Battlestar there are a lot of ship models to create and use in game. Perhaps if sectioning off the ships like in game we you (and we the player) could make our own unique designs. Take a look at wolf' for kitbash ideas. Something that was not included in the original show but is considered cannon is the Tiger-class Destroyer. It's mid section doesn't have flight pods instead it has four massive laser cannons (two on either side) and two mega pulsar cannons in the nose that could go toe to toe with baseships. But, I am more interested in wolf's 2003 designes that he made. I hope you'll collaborate.

No promises. Thought I'd have more time to code with this new shift, found out I barely have time to do my school work on it. Good news though, new job, better pay, better hours, less of a hostile work environment. Current progress is corvette complete, destroyer complete, starbase complete, railgun, missile and laser turret complete. I think the science ship, construction ship, and transport are also done, the original models will still be used. That just leaves the cruiser, battleship, and titan for the default game, then on to all the various NSC ships for an NSC patch. Then rinse and repeat for the toasters...I mean Cylons.

Oh yes, thank you for the info! I love what you guys are doing you are all so amazing. If I may ask, and please know I am in no way getting impatient or trying to rush you, but do you have any ideas on timing or dates? Like, if y'all aren't sure no biggie, I know life is a giant game of blindsides and such, but I'm curious.

The models and basic texture are done, so now coding them into game is what Red is doing
I'm updaing models for Cylons and make for them custom texture, later i will try to add some pic into "Cylon Models WIP" to show how it will look like.
