Fully animated Ingress glyph meaning "N’Zeer". Blue and Green particles are interactive with the mouse and are repelled by it. The calibration grid rings rotate and shimmer slightly. The plasma links flow between the rings, which glow and emit particles around them. Enlightened and Resistance particles flow in from the sides. N’Zeer influence spirals out from the middle and is confined by a barrier of Shaper particles, which also repels both Enlightened and Resistance particles. The initialization itself is fascinating to watch (pictures 2, 3, and 4).

Lore: The Shapers are intelligent beings possibly from outside our own universe that have been existent alongside humanity for millennia. They interact with intelligent life by influencing thoughts through glyphs and portals to our world. For a long time we thought the Shapers were the only such being to do so. We now know this is not true. Newly uncovered and rediscovered information suggests that thousands of years ago, another presence also existed called the N’Zeer. For reasons yet unknown, the Shapers and the N’Zeer fought each other in a war of influence and the Shapers were victorious. The Shapers then sealed away or destroyed all knowledge of the N’Zeer, nearly erasing them from the pages of history. Knowledge, though, is hard to destroy and now that we know that the N’Zeer exist, we are faced with a question: should we re-open their portals? Those researching the N’Zeer have different takes. Some believe that the N’Zeer have knowledge or possession of a powerful weapon and advanced technology that could have unknown applications. Others feel a presence of cold, merciless darkness whenever they read N’Zeer glyphs or visit ancient sites. This is where the ancient war merges with the present one. In general, the Enlightened heed the dark presence surrounding the legacy of the N’Zeer and are opposed to opening their portals again. Some Resistance agents believe that they could use the N’Zeer and their weapons to destroy the Shapers once and for all and, therefore, want to open the portals. Other Resistance agents are staying true to the original mission of the Resistance: to remove the influence of exotic species from Earth. These agents also wish to see the N'Zeer portals stay closed rather than have to face two exotic species. Regardless, it seems that Resistance efforts to weaken the Shapers have inhibited their ability to keep N’Zeer portals sealed. It may not be long before we discover what the N’Zeer want from Earth.
