How to Max Affinity for Many of the Companions Without Cheats

If you have the Nuka-World DLC and you don't want to use console commands to cheat your way up to max affinity on all your companions, there's an exploit that you can use to max them up instead.

Four Easy Steps

First, talk to Sierra.


When you receive the prompt, tell her I Can Help. This will trigger a like reaction from many companions:

• Preston Garvey
  
• Codsworth
  
• Curie
  
• Paladin Danse
  
• Piper
  
• Strong (surprisingly)
  
• John Hancock

Then, that you're a Fellow Nuka-Cola fan:


And finally, tell her to shove off because it Sounds Boring:


Each like gives +15 affinity, so you'll need to repeat this 16 times for each level that you want to rank your companion up to.

I've only tried this with Strong, but with Strong you can still gain the like by choosing suit yourself instead of being a fan.
