Emperor Valens' battle of Adrianople (overhaul)

Description
Our brand new overhaul for the ROMAN VERSION of the vanilla battle of Adrianople is live in v1.0,

in which this historical battle can be played in a competely different perspective, and you could possibly manage to avoid the tragic death of Valens in the game. It is now a battle of legendary difficulty, TRY WITH CAUTION!

The unit positions are set according to Osprey's illustrated book on the battle of Adrianople, and both sides are neatly deployed!

NOTE: This is among our ambitious compilation of series of overhauls to come for virtually all vanilla historical battles, aiming to make historical battles as historically-accurate as possible as well as playable as both sides of the belligerents.

NOTE: This is NOT a campaign overhaul. This is specially designed for Battles --> Historical Battles.

NOTE: This mod is rather huge as it contains various high-res textures and models, specifically and only designed for Rome and the Visigoths, like none before.

Features

What amazing changes this particular mod actually presents to you, as compared to the previous Visigothic version:

1. Visigoths are stronger, both in terms of infantry units as well as cavalry reinforments. So do expect a long and hard fight! (Given the everlasting debate as to whether the victory sealed by Visigothic cavalry marked the dawn of cavalry dominance on the field, as well as whether Visigothic infantry are actually playing an important role in defeating the Romans)

2. Visigoths are smarter, as they would prefer to defend on high grounds and wait for their reinforcements, and of course, the latter are initially invisible until the Roman soldiers could finally realize they were surrounded. So do expect the unexpected enemy cavalry from just the other corner of your view!

3. The visual effects of the unit cards are again enhanced to make them better recognizable as well as visually aesthetic.

Instrustions on Installation

This mod is a collection of both models and database, so this single file deal with what is covered above. Select this mod and jump into the historical battle to see for yourself!

This mod MAY be compatible with other battle enhancement mods that don't alter vanilla unit stats, and MAY NOT be compatible with major unit overhauls like FotE. Compatibility feedbacks are welcomed!

Progress & Future Plans

Next in-coming battle overhauls:

Battle of the Catalaunian Plains (4 vs 4 massive battle concerning more than 10,000 warriors on the field, to be precise, WRE & Visigoths & Alans & Salian Franks versus Hunnic Empire & Amali Goths & Gepids/Rugians/Heruli, with historical attacking patterns for both sides as well)

Battle of ad Decimum (featuring also John the Armenian and Solomon as allies, as well as Vandalic generals Ammatas and Gibamund, with historical attacking patterns for both sides as well)

Newly added battle of Strasbourg / Argentoratum, playable as Julian the Apostate, featuring the Magister Equites Severus as supporting allies, and Alamanni generals like the high king Chnodomar.

Newly added battle of Tours / Poitiers, playable as Charles Martel

Newly added battle of Edessa, playable as Valerian

Newly added battle of Callinicum, playable as Belisarius

Great mod. Love the figures (as miniature wargamers say)! Can we add this to the Grand Campaign in some way?

@Aeneus, Mire than glad you had enjoyed it:) We are actually doing this part-time but future releases are coming:)
@Drkilljoy91, The units and most of their textures are all brand new ones made by ourselves, with the rest inspired by FotE:)
@comptable77, Though they would still emerge at the same point as in vanilla, I believe their subsequent attacking routes are different, depending on how the players deploy their troops:)
@clickonyourarcherclickonmycity, Glad that you’ve enjoyed this battle. Do expect more in the coming weeks:)
@Katahikusode, Yeah, I have to admit that a lot of you want to unlock the units in GC, but it will take some time and we will surely listen, cheers:)
