It works as long as no one hits the level cap as soon as they do no one gets any xp anymore.
And yes i realize this is a mod from 2017 :P
The idea of this is that on my server, whether you tame a Wild Level 1 or Wild Level 120 dino, they can both reach the exact same level cap given enough XP. There then becomes a tradeoff: low-level wild dinos are desirable because you get to choose where to put way more of their stat points, but must level up way more times than a high-level tamed dino, thus being subject to a steeper experience ramp to achieve the same level.
