  • This screenshots are(from left to right: modded to vanilla) taken with an ancient PC where graphic settings are automatically downgraded and it may not reflect the real quality of what this "mod" can do. I also used Gerula Graphics Enhancement MOD and all this may different from monitor to monitor or due to video card settings

These settings work well with Medieval Total War 2 as well!

What does the mod actually do? It didn't seem to add a preset for reshade to use or anything.

Dear anyone attempting this in 2021: Make sure to download Reshade version 3.0.8 (as listed above) and NOT THE CURRENT VERSION

The current version doesn't have the SweetFx effects, so you won't be able to use the above settings. I went on a 2-hour wild goose chase before figuring that one out.

I followed all install instructions, made sure NET and C++ are up to date but all I get once Reshade is installed is a black screen where the ROME II screen should be. The only way out is to right click and force close non-responding program. Too bad, I use Mediator for Medieval II and it works great (but does the same thing as Reshade 4)

@franzlomonaco
First, ReShade it does not affect your game files it's only like an image filter
Than you just need to watch a ReShade tutorial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPOHYQ7xRLE

reshade.ini is just a default file, so nothing will happen until you start to change with your own values

You can copy for this mod description and paste it in your reshade.ini using a notepad

FPS impact depends on what you have enabled - if you just want to change colours/contrast then it can be single digits/below 5fps impact

if you want HDR, sharpen, other complex effects and FXAA then yeah it's going to add up
