Somnambulant - Class Mod WIP

Description
The Somnambulant Class Mod
The Somnambulant, an apprentice in the art of sleepwalking, combats his enemies by manipulation of their sleep cycle as well as his own. While awake, he sends his opponents to sleep from the safety of the back ranks. In this safe zone the Somnambulant can also choose to fall asleep.
While asleep, his role changes. With every attack the Somnambulant makes, he shuffles forward, until he is close enough to send his nightmares at the opposing team. This wakes him up at the front of the party, from where he can easily retreat to begin the cycle anew.

What's new
v0.3
- Audio is in, first draft.
- Changes to the Skill upgrades. Some of them were not fun to upgrade.

v0.4
- Big change in Wake/Sleep mechanic. Skills that wake the Somnambulant or send him to sleep are no longer guaranteed to succeed. When you try to wake up in the back ranks, you might just fail... And when you fail to fall asleep in the 3rd rank, all you can do is channel your Insomnia. But when you're lucky, you fail to wake up after a massive Nightmare Fuel, and can use it again for a blowout.
The relevant skills tie into this, increasing your control over falling asleep, but decreasing your ability to wake up.

v0.7
- Added compatibility for Colour of Madness DLC.
- Additional balance pass.

Class Overview
The Somnambulant is a stunner, shuffler and conditional DPS. He can heal HP and Stress, but risks falling in too deep a sleep, stunning himself. From the back ranks he can stay awake to fulfill a support role, able to chain stun after stun on the enemy back ranks. When needed, he can fall asleep to become a shuffling attacker. With each action he shuffles up one rank, moving closer and closer towards the very front of the party. Only in rank 1 can the sleeping walker perform his most devastating attack, Nightmare Fuel. This attack can damage and stun the entire enemy party, at the cost of some torchlight and the risk of self-bleeding. It also wakes the Somnambulant up. Fortunately, he has a skill that moves him all the way to the back rank, from which he can either perform a stun role, or fall asleep for more nightmare action.
With the Somnambulant, I have attempted to create a class that has a clear theme and related gameplay mechanism. Each turn should provide interesting decisions, whether to stay awake and control the enemy (but risking serious self-bleeding), or fall asleep and have a chance to heal or do damage. I have strived to make him as full-featured as I could, and as such, the mod includes :
- 6 trinkets, including two set bonuses
- original dialogue for as many strings as I could find (many of which for afflicted/virtuous states)
- new camping skills
- provisions - the Somnambulant comes with 2 torches, and increases your torch stack size by 2
- association to the Athenaeum district, for more control over his stress levels (not the most exciting buffs, so I might try to add a more appropriate buff to the district)
- custom art, including skill icons, equipment, attack poses and effects. I do not have Spine, so the Somnambulant uses familiar animations.

I've assigned sounds to each of the Somnambulant's skills. This is a first go, just to add some semblance of appropriate sound to him. I'll be on the lookout for more fitting sound effects.
Also, I am not an artist, but I have tried to the best of my abilities to create a cool looking man, with a defined look and colour scheme.

Combat Skills
Sleep Cycle: Attack position: 4,3, targeting himself.
Shifts the Somnambulant between Wake and Sleep states. While in Sleep state, the Somnambulant gains Move resist and Deathblow resist, but loses Speed and Dodge.
While Awake
Heavy Slumber: Attack position: 4, targets 3,4.
Great Stun chance, and lowers the target's Stun resistance. Has a small chance to Bleed himself, and causes a Bleed resistance debuff.
Insomnia: Attack position: 4,3,2, targets 1+2.
Very low damage, but decent chance to cause light Bleeding. Also applies a Speed debuff to the targets. Triple damage against stunned targets.
Safe Zone: Attack position: 2,1, targeting himself.
Moves the Somnambulant to Rank 4. Applies Bleed resist buff to himself, and Stress resist to his allies.

While Asleep
Dream Fall: Attack position: 3,2,1, targets 1,2.
Moves forward by 1, and deals normal Damage. Small chance to Bleed himself, but always applies a Speed buff to self.
Sleep Walk: Attack position: 4,3 targeting himself.
Moves forward by 1, and heals himself for a small amount, and lowers Stress by a lot. Has a good chance to Stun himself.
Nightmare Fuel: Attack position: 1, targets 1+2+3+4.
The pay-off for all the shuffling! Deals large damage to enemy party and causes Stun. Deals double damage when Afflicted. Lowers Torchlight, causes the Somnambulant to wake up, and has a large chance for heavy self Bleeding.

Camping Skills
Lucid Dream: Lowers stress from self, and buffs both Stun chance and Stun resist.
Jawn Practice: Buffs his own Bleed resist.
Nightmare Visit: Causes stress to self, but buffs his own Damage, Crit chance and Stress Resist.
Stay Up: Heals small amount of Stress from companions and prevents Ambush. Stresses and Debuffs his own Bleed resist.

Info
Requires Crimson Court: Yes
Mod Version: 0.7
Language: English (but I'd gladly add more languages if someone's willing to translate!)

Any feedback is welcome. Tips for art, sound, design, balance are all good. Also, please notify me on any bugs, missing strings etc, I'll try to fix them if I can.

Known Bugs
- Afflicted and Heroic sprites do not have transparency. If anyone knows a solution, please let me know, it's driving me nuts :)

I'm interested in knowing the thought process behind giving him an exposed brain. I have my own theories but I'd love to hear what the creator has to say about it

Deff one of the most interesting classes I played with. I like simple concepts and mechanics . I'm not into those classes that you need a novel to understand how to play it.

Thanks, diziothevoice!
The reason the self-bleed and self-stun chances increase, is because your resistance to these debuffs increase with your armour level. Without the increase in debuff chance, you would quickly become immune to the self-debuffs.

Great work!
...just... why the more you level the skill the higher are the malus? It should be lowered the self bleed chance, isn't it?

One of the most interesting concepts for a class mod I seen so far.
Congratulations

@Father Scourge, @Tracido,

Thanks a bunch for the kind words! This lil' guy didn't get all that much attention, but he was made with a lot of love. I'm glad you're enjoying this sleepyhead as much as I did designing him.

Keep dreaming 'em dead!
