Polynesia 2 Pure Grass THEME

Description
Can you deactivate ruined texture from showing up under buildings? Well, not precisely, but this gets very close.

A brilliant idea by Stealthy, this theme Polynesia 2.0 but with a twist - it solves a rather annoying issue in the game: all buildings show ruined texture underneath them, rather than normal grass. It's as if nobody in your city maintains their lawn and the grass bordering i concrete make everything look rather unkempt.

This takes the idea for green-hued ruined textures in themes like Polynesia 2.0 and Alps Dolomites to the next level. By making the ruined texture the identical texture as the grass. It results in very neat, clean transition from pavement to grass, and makes all buildings look as if they actually care about their lawn maintenance.

TEMPERATE VERSION: change your temperate city into Polynesia with the Mossy Mountain theme made for cities and maps in temperate: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928333414

There is a tradeoff for beaches with buildings on them, but there is an easy solution. You can use beach / sand (or other) decals such as ones from the workshop from Ronyx69 Beardmonkey, etc.

SEE POLYNESIA 2.0 PAGE FOR MORE IMAGES AND ALL OTHER DETAILS ON THE POLYNESIA 2.0 THEME Beyond the texture change, this is the same as 2.0 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=688156204

Here they are :) They're already landscaped subtropical look (FLA / CAL) so they'll probably fit right in with Hawaii. The craftsman homes are here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=692985456
And here are a bunch more tropical homes here. Near the center of the collection are some nice ones like the Savannah https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=598290812

I need a link to your guide, though. Since your profile is private, I can't find it easily. Thanks :)

That's a cool idea hadece! It is a bit lacking in the large areas, where ruined would be really nice to see. I'll check out your guide since I'm not very knowledgeable about this, and play around with the textures. Thanks very much for the info!

As a solution for sand and water underground problem, you could as well make a classic ruined texture (like dirty sand) 98% invisible (alpha mask/png). It will then appear really late, and be almost inivisible near houses and roads but still appear on large areas. I made a guide about these experiments in case you want more information and examples. :)

Aha, Yup, minor annoyance isn't it? What you need to do is restart the game entirely for the new version to work right. No idea why :D If it's an already published that you updated within about an hour, you might have to force it to download the new version to you. Unsub and resub does that. Then restart the game, should be good
