As we know, In Fall of The Samurai, The Artillery, Queen of The Battlefield, Reigns Supreme
...Sadly, FoTS do not offer enough type of artillery...which my mod hopefully will...
I find the leap from Wooden Cannons into Rifled Wrought Iron and Steel Cannons a bit too... abrupt. May these become some decent stepping stones...
This is currently, from my limited knowledge, the Second Shogun Total War 2 Mod which uses some entirely new, Original, User-made models.

Changelog:
-Increase Parrott and Armstrong Guns Range to 750, but with a small decrease in accuracy and reload time
-Decrease Wooden Cannon Range to 400
-Increase Parrott and Armstrong Pulling Horse to 6. Realistically, 2 Horse wouldn't be strong enough. Gameplay wise, better mobility for Artillery.
-Orbital Artillery Fix
Long Range Fire Support now come in shallower angle, not Orbital like Vanilla.(Vanilla 60 degrees, Tweaked to 30 degrees)
-Parrott and Armstrong Gun Maximum Elevation Reduced
Now Fires in Shallower Angle.
-Combined Artillery Train HP Reduced
From 50 to 15, now easier to kill

Roundshots punch bigger holes in formations than in Vanilla
Roundshot Impact kicks possibly-injuring pebbles everytime it bounces.
Added Simulated Fuse Defects for Round Shells.(Hey Its hard to set time fuses right...)
It Could be a dud...Or the shells explodes prematurely...So Interesting situations like this can happen: A Shell Incoming...No it fell short...but wait it bounces, not exploding...Oh, It Bounces over the heads...Is it a Dud? nope, it explodes right over them...

Mod has bugs but is really good regardless.

Sometimes guns (even original ones like armstrongs) cant unlimber properly so can't fire at all.
Sometimes crew are seemingly immune to melee attacks. I think you can route and capture them though.

It might just be me but I think the straighter trajectory makes artillery LOS being blocked more common. Good and bad - positioning is more important, gameplay is more skillful and you can sneak units around without them being blown up.


I love all the new artillery types, especially the horse artillery, the coehorn mortars and the fireworks guys. Love the garrisoned guns. Love the cannon balls bouncing, that is surprisingly impactful and impressive.

Strongly recommend it, even with the bugs.
The firework samurai make a traditional units only playthrough very viable and they're fun to use.
The horse artillery allow light, fast but decently equipped armies.
Trajectory and shell dynamic changes make arty more fun to use etc

The mistake of calling artillery the "Queen of the Battlefield" in the description, makes absolutely no difference to the mod, but goddamn if it doesn't irk me.

The 4 Inch mortars are fixed and their range is so short that they cant be spawned in range of most siege maps, making them worthless for their niche. I'd suggest tweaking them to increase the range or make them mobile.

this mod is insanely glitchy. breaks siege AI if they have reinforcements with these arty pieces and they often are invincible and will kill any unit sent to attack them in melee

I just wanna say this: I captured a Wooden Cannon Garrison after my enemy sallied out during a siege. Now I got shitty cannons that has 0 upkeep :steamhappy:

Pretty sure Artillery is the king of battle, as its usually fixed or slow moving?
