However, with step 5, there is one important change to make. Instead of entering this command in the Steam console:
download_depot 48190 48191 5750644510894331501
Enter this one instead:
download_depot 48190 48191 5151009448406620764
Sorry you are having trouble. I think a recent update by Ubisoft may have killed this method of bypassing their client, however there is another way that involves downloading a prior version of AC Brotherhood from Steam.
Look back on the second page of comments to my message on Aug 10, 2024 @ 1:57am — The one that starts with "Alright folks." See if that chain of instructions works at all for you and please let me know if anything unexpected happens.
Thank you for writing this guide. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me. Or at least, maybe this doesn't work because I've played the game with Ubisoft Connect, before trying this.
I decided to try this fix when, out of nowhere, I couldn't sign into Ubisoft Connect, which effectively prevented me from booting the game up at all.
I followed all of your steps.
However, when I tried to play, a brief, transparent window seemed to pop up and disappear, and then the game just stops loading. Do I need to freshly install the game before using this fix?
Unfortunately, it doesn't. The only 2 games that can be successfully rolled back to non-Ubi Connect playability are AC Brotherhood and From Dust.
1. Reinstalled the game and deleted all the files in the games' installation folder.
2. Uninstalled all the Ubisoft applications.
3. Kept the firewall rule. *
4. Downloaded the old depot using DepotDownloader [github.com]. Used command:
DepotDownloader.exe -app 48190 -depot 48191 -manifest 5151009448406620764 -manifestonly -username <your username> -password <your password>
Note: Using the Steam console with download_depot might work too but I have not tested it.
5. Copied over the game files from the depot into the games' installation folder.
6. Launched the game.
* The game starts directly, not the launcher nor Ubisoft Connect. So I am uncertain if this version of the game requires the firewall rule, or any bypass for that matter.
Thanks again to @ThreeSon and the others testing/confirming this method!
All you need to do guys:
1) Download the ubisoftaluncher in this guide
2) Download the game you want from Steam
3) Download torrent, repack, crack game from trust pirate sites
4) Install Ubisoft launcher and block it like in the guide
5) Delete all local files from license steam version, but not parent folder
6) Install crack to your PC, then installed files set from this folder to empty license folder
p.s. after that if you want you can delete crack game
7) Take UbisoftConnectInstaller.exe from guide (install file) and copy it to the license folder too
That's it after that you can play. I tested it on my AC brotherhood and AC III(i had standart edition, but set here the gold edition with all dlcs that i didn't buy) and it's worked.
Good Luck and thanks again @ThreeSon
I'm getting the same error as you, even though it was working in August. I fear that Ubisoft may have blocked access to that download.
Try this one instead:
download_depot 48190 48191 5151009448406620764
It is the next version of the game, from 2017. It may still work. Just follow the rest of the steps from my comments and let me know if it is successful.
