In this innovative simulator, we take on the role of freshly reincarnated Walter Hartwell White, a man humbled by his past mistakes yet no less ambitious.

Don't let appearances fool you. His new drug of choice does not seem as unhealthy or destructive as blue crystal but may turn out just as addictive.

Will you assist him on his path to redemption and help him meticulously build a yerba maté empire from scratch, successfully hooking the world on this tealike beverage, or is he destined to fail?

The choice is ultimately yours. It's maté on!

You'd think this is just another snooze-worthy solitaire game but I'm having a blast with it. Between well-mixed RPG elements, the ability to customize our protagonist and play dress-up :P, an entertaining story and witty writing, this turned out to be a surprisingly fun adventure. Seriously, check it out!

Early Access Review
A few hours in, it becomes clear, Songs of Conquest cannot possibly replace the original HoMM III that the game was heavily inspired by. But to be fair, it's not meant to and doesn't aspire to be just another copypasta. SoC is fun and full of charm in its own right; this title distinguishes itself enough to stand on its own without being reduced to a nostalgia magnet.

That said, the mechanics are still in need of some serious refining. It's far too easy to exploit faulty AI to your advantage. Looking forward to some improvements and more content in the future.

For what it's worth, my seven years old niece seems to enjoy playing this game.

Talisman Prologue, as the title implies, is a tutorial game introducing you to the world of Talisman. And it's fine enough for what it is.

The gameplay offers a variety of characters and quests you can complete. All accompanied by a pleasant-sounding soundtrack and often differing artwork that we came to know from the original game, which helps give Prologue its own identity.

I wish it'd have achievements as an extra incentive to finish some of the more repetitive tasks, but that's a minor complaint on my part.

The true horror of Kholat isn't embodied in its haunting, based on real-life events, story, or dripping of hopelessness and existential ache voice of the confused narrator, not by an immersive scenery with just enough dose of spookiness thrown in or eerie yet graceful soundtrack. Not even in the unknown threats stalking upon you, their prey, until you're at their mercy.

No. The true remorseless monster haunting this game, its worst enemy, in fact, is its navigation design. Some would say that the virtually impossible to navigate path through the purgatory of a tortured soul is exactly the point creators were trying to make. Well. I'd argue that when you're trapped in one location for about one-third amount of your entire gameplay time, it tends to take away from the overall experience.

Wholesome and sweet are the words that come to mind when trying to describe this game. The immersive experience of being transferred right onto children book's pages was a joy, for as short as it was. Exactly what I needed to brighten up my mood and relax next to a cup of tea... or coffee :)

The Deed is an intriguing little gem of a horror-mystery, except in reverse, you are the one responsible for providing the thrills and murder. Though arguably being stuck with the protagonist's dysfunctional family might be considered horror all on its own.

You show up to family gathering already with an intention to kill, now it's up to you on how you're going to proceed about this. The goal is to avoid suspicion and not get caught either red-handed or during interrogation; maybe secure that sweet inheritance from your impossibly demanding father while you're at it.

Every choice matters, what you say might either help your case or be used against you. Interact with everyone present to ascertain their character and fish for possible motives. Is the butler really the only decent fellow on the grounds of this mansion? Frame him anyway.

For the full experience, make sure to pay attention to items and furniture in your surroundings in order to trigger the haunting flashbacks or simply prompt hilarious responses from other characters (one, in particular, had me laughing for two minutes straight). For the grim premise, the story is not without its own brand of dark humor.

Even though the game is relatively short, it's highly addictive. As if under a spell, I couldn't walk away until I reached all possible endings. The background music is chilling when it needs to be, and the graphics add to the overall atmosphere.

If you're a fan of the genre, do yourself a favor and give this game a try. It's a delight.

Coming into this already familiar with the story, having watched the anime adaptation all the years back, had me worried I won't be able to derive as much enjoyment from reading the source material. I'm ecstatic to say my fears were unfounded. Ryukishi07 knows how to craft a good story, never doubt that, and I was fully engaged in rediscovering the world of cicadas anew. It's, in fact, better than I remembered. This is a solid recommendation from a long-time fan.
