I like this game but I stopped playing after a bit and I didnt really want to come back. Its like a 6 out of 10 but for a new franchise from Bethesda I thought there would be more to it.

Its not recommended not because of it being a bad game but its not recommended because there are other Bethesda games that are too similar at lower prices, just buy like Fallout 3 or 4, or just buy New Vegas because that game is a 9 out of 10. If your big on Bethesda games then yea get this game.

This game is very good its worth your time if you have played the other games connected to Kiryu (Yakuza 1 through 6). This game feels like they tried to make a better conclusion to Kiryus story then yakuza 6 as well as kinda leading into his story in 8 (Ill mention the "kinda" in the spoiler part). Gameplay is solid as usual and the minigames are just as strong as before.

The Agent style as a fighting style is the fast style of this game {most comparable to Crane in the Judgements), but with a more defensive profile (kinda like Snake from LJ but in role only) and has gadgets to mix it up and make groups easier to fight. Agent styles gadgets are sorta disappointing overall, since Id usually use spider gadget for most groups and Seprent boots for heat build on the street, for the other gadgets, I barely used drones other then early games and never used Firefly other then for the extreme heat move with it. Overall great style but the gadgets feel sorta lack luster.

The Yakuza Style is Kiryus style from Y6/ YK2, but tweaked a bit and has a better game feel then those games since it has less early Dragon Engine jank. The damage output for this style is insane and makes Agent feel lacking damage wise. Alot of moves came over but some got removed or tweaked so it doesnt intrude on Agents group handling niche, most of it is fine but some changes I dont necessary get, like the grab finishers being stuck to extreme heat when theres better options in extreme heat for Yakuza style for groups (or you just switch to Agent for groups). Yakuza style is the boss killer style of this game and due to its damage output makes fights go faster then Id wish (played through this game on Professional), probably just a personal thing and it doesnt make coliseum any easier though. Yakuza style was my go to for this game and felt great the entire time.

Coliseum is the main minigame with a quote on quote storyline connected to it (same sort of the story of there being 4 kings as main minigames after 0), and within the story you have to play in the coliseum. This allows some fleshing out of the minigame, primarily with alternative characters to play as that were not playable before and those characters being put into group battles. Unfortunately even a half fully upgraded Kiryu will be able to handle more then the other characters (except the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chicken man, hes pretty good only because of his special move), maybe I just didnt level them up enough though. For the group battles, they are fairly alright, with so many guys helping out its really hard to see what your buddies are doing except the healers because they have a huge aoe heal visible.

Into the spoiler section because I dont want story spoilers up at the top of the review: As per usual the story is solid for an RGG game, it sorta gains the same bonus that the Kaito Files has for being only 5 chapters long, since some of the games like 7 or LJ felt like they dragged in some sections. Kiryus arch in this game is solid and does indeed confirm that he will never be free from getting thrown into situations he doesnt want to be part of. The ending stuff: Dont want to say much other then it ending at the dissolving of the omi is fine but when this game got announced I assumed it went until the beginning of 8, but instead they sorta skim after the omi dissolving. Also I dont remember Yumi mentioning wanting to go to Hawaii but I havent played K1 in awhile, I presume from trailers of 8 they will explain alot of, what is currently, off screen interactions/ relationships with past characters or will expand on them

Play this game, dont make it your first yakuza game though, if you do that you are stupid

pretty good, kinda wanna play more but I had a character I was playing with like 5 buddies but we got bored and playing this game singleplayer fun but Im never in the mood to play it by myself

not gonna lie dont remember putting 100 hours into this, weaker plot then 2 and is sorta on the same level of presequels plot but eh. dont really care about plot, sorta turned off my entire brain stem when playing this. I assume its good, I like the casino dlc.
