Signalis has a unique story, but at the same time, some might dislike it. It is purposefuly made to be confusing, sometimes seemingly contradictive to itself, and because of that it might give impression that it has plot holes, while they were actually intentional, and looking back, you will see that there was lore explanation for these "mistakes".
What is important to understand is that story has somewhat of a supernatural... nature, and it does affect the storytelling, making it stand out from other games in its own way.

It is a game that was mainly developed by 2 people over course of 8 years, and the result is incredibly impressive.
Gameplay is inspired by other survival horrors, and while it does not have much of a depth in combat, it feels pretty satisfying and balanced. And if you find yourself struggling too much, or want a bigger challenge, you can change difficulty without starting new game.
The story is intriguing, mysterious, and dark, has emotional moments, as well as some shocking reveals that will make you speculate a lot. And while not all questions have definitive answers, there are multiple community theories that give their own explanations, perhaps you could make another. So if you like idea of trying to puzzle together complicated story, then drop down the hole and play it. It can become one of your favorites.
