I wish the Dondoko Island minigame was like Tropico 4. This game couldve been a lot better if it was like Tropico 4. I hope in the next Like A Dragon series the game will have minigames that are a lot like Tropico 4. Thank you.

theres just no reason not to buy this dlc its cheap and the amount of content in it is INSANE!
im so thrilled with the range and quality of recipes provided in this DLC. It offers opportunity to easily acquire rare ingredients like Iberico pork early in the game, which was a life saver for me personally. What also stands out is the flexibility of the recipes that come from this dlc—you can use a lot of them anywhere. Since they range between 60 and 90 Gensokyo dollars for every recipe WITHOUT having the expensive tag (mostly), you'll be raking in so much money. When your really trying to maximize your supply if rare ingredients this is helpful; running the izakaya in the underworld will have you practically throwing money away at every merchant like its nothing.
like the underworld is one of the best places to get money like gooodness.. you can put out a lot of expensive meat recipes and drinks, customers wont complain! they will gladly pay and you'll be able to earn 16,000 to 20,000 gensokyo dollars each night.

another thing is the music oh my gooddnesss gracious! ITS SO AMAZING! the underworld theme is one of my favorites, the way the music team is able to incorporate the motifs of many characters themes together, and do it smoothly in a way thats relaxing? its just amazing it brings me to tears sometimes. then the earth kingdom theme is just actually beautiful and encapsulates the area so well. the music alone is on another plane.

Every character is written beautifully, an its clear that the devs put a lot of thought into linking each character to the recipes they give out. like parsees gloomy pie and agony oden they were so silly.. i love it so much :crying face:
this dlc is a MUST HAVE honestly. the little competition at the end is nice too. but if your looking to really complete this game buying the dlcs is just absolutely necessary.

other than it just adding a ton of awesome recipes, money-making opportunities, characters you can't live without, SO MANY RARE INGREDIENTS!!! AND!! even a hot springs :holding back tears:
they put their soul into this... the whole game even. amazing job please buy this its only like 2 dollars and its so worth it.

henryk changed my life. he may be mentally weak, physically weak, and a womanizer, but barebones he is a chef up and down. he is so inspiring i want him to teach me how to cook
a world without henryk is a world of black, because ive already ended my own life. there is simply no living without him.

after each village run whose back at the train, dinner ready every step of the way? the goulash is always ready for feasting.
i cant imagine letting him rot away in the manor he NEEDs. to be in the train cooking.
a few potatoes and cabbage and hes made 5 star dishes food that brings tears and tears and crying and sobbing

behind the cooking he is still a person, and i think many people just dont understand that. i do.. i will save him 10 times over just to see him happily cook in a kitchen
what are his sins, a few catcalling incidents? forgiven.. we all make mistakes even some of the mistakes that happen at the bar on day 3 he isnt even that crazy arent we all a little crazy deep down?

i can only survive spamming the eat dinner option or else i cant make it past day 1 morning
have i finished the game: the answer is no but all i know is i need to save him i need to save him.. i need to save him FROM HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its not actually that bad
i was upset bwhen i finished this game but its just meh
surprisingly fitting ending for kiryus character, and i understand why theyd even bring him back in yakuza 7
this game is just an ending to kiryus domestic life, in that hes giving up his civilian life
poor haruka though lawlll they wrote her all messed up in this one
like talking about how she was really connected to hiroshima and then not even showing us a single scene of her and yuta or anyone else.. until the end of the game

also the boat plot was very very boring, like people give ♥♥♥♥ about yakuza 5's story but this takes the cake
the last boss is even worse than yakuza 5 too

all in all yakuza 6 is just kiryu realizing he cant stay in all of his kids lives anymore, and recognizing he was a pretty bad father figure so he just leaves

Yakuza 4 was funny, with all the twists being as ridiculous as they were. Even though it had some pacing problems and tedious minigames, it still felt more compelling and motivating to play through than 5.
Yakuza 5 feels like they completely forgot the epiphanies they made characters declare in 4. the ending also makes no sense and makes everything feel completely pointless.
There's no way to go through this other than every single chapter.
I am going to spoil the entire game in this review.

Beginning with Kiryu's chapter, did anyone else feel excited when Kiryu left off four saying, "I'm the one who forced the tojo clan on you. Left you on your own. But now.. Im done running. Its time I take responsibility for my mistakes." only for his chapter to start... And he is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TAXI DRIVER., in another city, pretending not to know Daigo or the Tojo clan?

It made me go wtf is he doing? and I was hoping they could explain this in a way that makes sense. But it doesn't because the game doesn't tie up loose ends from yakuza 4. I mean, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, we see Kiryu with the Tojo at the end of 4, swearing in the saejima family and all; he jumped ship that fast?

This is all a part of Kiryu's internal conflict of not wanting to be involved with the yakuza because of his family. Yet, he involves himself in yakuza problems because he likes beating people up. I know everything Kiryu does in 5 is connected to how he can escape his fate as a yakuza, but Kiryu doesn't get close to solving this in this game.
In fact, at the end of the game, Kiryu ends up in the same situation as y1, 2, and 3. fighting some guy that wants to take over the tojo clan or something.

I started having a problem with Kiryu just because of this. He uses Daigo and everyone else in the tojo as cover for him until they can't cover for him anymore. He did that in the past games, but the nice part about 4 was him saying he'd stop doing that.
Well, he didn't stop doing that, and now he will go superhero mode again to fix everything.

Kiryu ACTS like he is some wise genius, but he doesn't think about his actions. He never takes responsibility. He only runs until he literally can't anymore.
I wouldve been OK with this if they addressed how selfish Kiryu is and how he contradicted himself, but we get......
nothing
I would've liked the game 10x more if they developed Kiryu, but they make him go tojo superhero again.
They also don't explain why Kiryu flipped the switch from his epiphany in yakuza 4. I get that it might've been because of Haruka pursuing being an idol, but I feel like it's different than that.
It just sucks when they build Kiryu up to be something to admire. Yeah, his physical strength is crazy but everything else? He is a disaster.

Very long Kiryu rant, but saejimas part is decent. It gets very dull in the last half, but his being in prison again is better than it was in 4. the nice part about his prison sequence is the people he meets; they are pretty interesting characters. Baba wasn't that bad either; they made a two-sided character that was good for once.
It is funny that saejima wants to make everyone his sworn brother. His parts made me appreciate him more as a character; even the showdown between him and majima were good. How he consoles other characters honestly to God makes him better than Kiryu. He is a genuinely good guy who doesn't fake his wisdom like Kiryu.

The fanbase of yakuza only cares about brawling mechanics, even though it steadily worsens from 3-5. Haruka's part of the story was a great breath of air. If I didn't have it, I would've suffered. They built up Haruka's character in this one, and it was great seeing her independent from Kiryu. It was also sweet seeing Haruka bond with the park.

Park is one of the only exciting women characters in the series so far, as she is so ambitious. Seeing her try and be a mother figure for Haruka was great, and I liked that.
It started great, so that they couldn't have ruined it. Surprisingly they did!
Park ends up telling her sob story, but it's a pretty good one. It made me respect her a lot more, except she introduces the central theme of yakuza 5... which is following your dreams.
She failed and couldn't follow her dream anymore, so she wants Haruka to pursue her dream. This wasn't a problem, but she got murdered for what we find out later, no reason.
It's revealed that her ex-husband was majima, and majima wrote her a letter telling her he wanted to see her again???

So she was murdered for the letter, but they couldn't find it, and then they chased Haruka for it. They never get the letter, and it turns out that katsuya was best friends with park and didn't want her to die anyway.
While her death was an accident because of ogita, the entire majima letter plotline was stupid.. as the Osaka enterprise family and Kurosawa family go from desperately trying to get the letter to literally never mentioning or caring about it ever again by the end of Haruka's story.

Then we have yet to receive confirmation from majima that he even wrote the letter, or why he wrote that letter... or anything. We get speculation from Akiyama and no epilogue resolving this part of the story.

I liked Akiyama's part in the story, but he served to get Haruka's part over with.
What was ridiculous was how everyone gave everything to ensure Haruka finished the park's dream of the japan dome; even Haruka wanted to do it! She was super stubborn and didn't want NOT to do it. But as soon as she saw Kiryu fighting on tv after the first song they performed, she instantly gave all of that up.

Like, are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me???????? This just proved Park's point that Kiryu doesn't seem to let his kids be independent; they all rely on him. they genuinely do. Park was never cruel. She was telling the truth. While it's messed up for park to have projected herself so much on Haruka, she indisputably gave her lots of care and opportunity.
But anyway, she gives up after everyone fights to keep Haruka on stage. So much for the main message being "pass your dreams onto others."

Then Haruka is running over the Kiryu as he's bleeding out... for the 3rd or 4th time in the series. That was incredibly disappointing to see. Especially when Haruka gave her speech, it was heartwarming until she said, "I can't keep singing!" like, are you for real?
She had just left her role as the caretaker of the kiryus orphanage and the caretaker of Kiryu himself. Her character development seemed to be for nothing, all of everyone's sacrifices, for nothing.

They could've had someone else rescue Kiryu instead of Haruka. If they had done that, it would've saved the entire ending.

Overall the story had a lot of potential, but it didn't hit the mark. I would've been satisfied if they had made an epilogue that wrapped up some loose points.
