This was a down right religious experience for me. I've been a big fan of Half-Life since I was in 6th grade and I've played the game numerous times over the years so certain things have lost their luster. Witnessing the Citadel in the opening square was like I was seeing it for the first time. The rest of the game was just as fresh.

PROS
Last year I played HL2 but in GMOD with a VR add-on. The experience wasn't nearly as smooth.
This Mod's creators did a great job translating weapon systems to the VR play-style and did so without interrupting the fast play the classic HL2 had. Hell, the mod devs made the vehicles in game almost completely non-nauseating! Basically all the problems I had with the last time I tried this in VR weren't present this time around and there's plenty of quality of life features to be found in the mod for the VR environment.

CONS
There were a few visual bugs here and there. Riding the lift in the Citadel was the only real nausea I experienced. Sad to say the visuals for Gman in the opening and closing were probably the most notably scuffed parts, at least to me. Throwing grenades was hit or miss as well as aiming energy balls with the Super Gravity Gun.

Mods free. If you own the base game and a supported headset there's no reason to not play besides time. Many VR games don't immerse me anymore, at least their aren't many quality ones that can. Even with dated textures and models I felt more at home in this game than most other VR games. The world Valve released in 2004 shines even brighter now.

The devs of the Mod are awesome, thanks for the hard work.

DUSK is one of my favorite games now. Single player and multiplayer are great, wish MP had more of a player base but New Blood does a good job rallying players for Frag-Nights. Single player is familiar to Blood and Quake, fighting cultists and visiting strange places. Highly recommend it if you love old shooters. Pick up Amid Evil as well.

Really great game, I highly recommend it for those just getting into VR and those already familiar. The story and its world are pretty interesting and exploring each environment was great. The only real negative thing I could say is that the default controls are a bit strange.

If you really believe video games are an art form and want a very compelling narrative, get this game.
I have only played this once, but I will likely play it again.

You get a lot of thoughts and ideas thrown at you in this game. You question the Creator and why he made the game. You question yourself and what you wanted from in the first place. It’s a great game that keeps your mind going and the feels a coming.
