10. Mega Man Battle Network 6 - Pretty much my first game. Completed several times, clocked thousands of hours. Absolute GBA classic. The evolutionary dead end of the brilliant Battle Network design. A perfect mixture of fast paced, skill-based action, with the strategy of a turn based RPG, that borrows heavily from table top card games. Absolute must play.

9.Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy - It was the first game I ever completed and ever since I've been a completionist.

8.Super Metroid - Put the 'metroid' in metroidvania with is superb design and immersive world. Doesn't hold your hand, yet rewards replaying. Foundational atmosphere and world-building for what would become the future of horror games.

7.Bioshock - That. Freaking. City. Rapture may just be my favorite setting to a video game. The atmosphere was so well done and the RPG integration into multiple combat options make for a truly rewarding experience. System Shock 2 could very well also take this spot, but the modern update of Bioshock is an easier recommendation for an intro into immersive sim, with slightly less derivative setting.

6.Borderlands - I realize there is a lot wrong with this game. That being said, I love me some good loot! With aproximately 17.75 million guns, how could I not love it?! Just look at my hours!!!

5.Half-Life 2 - I miss the days where an FPS had you holding 10+ guns and didn't have an active cover system because it respects your intelligence to be able to use the world as cover. Every section changes things up and makes it addictive. From the boat to Ravenholm, I enjoyed it all the way through.

4. Rockman 2/Rockman X4/Rockman Zero 3 - Basically, the best of any in the 3 main cannon series' could stand with the best of them. Classic for its foundational gameplay and nostalgia. X for it's progression, design, and memorable set pieces. Zero 3 for it's immensely deep combat system and culmination of lore. Each of these games claim some of the greatest music to ever appear in a video game ever, period.


3.Nier;Automata - Utterly blown away with this game. Profound as it is elegant and silly at times. The storytelling and gameplay are woven together in spectacular harmony as it wears its artistic and philosophical influences on its sleeve.


2.The Last of Us - Not only did I enjoy every moment. I craved playing it more and felt empty if I wasn't playing. Art to me, is something that can invoke emotion in you;whether fear, anger, sadness etc... The Last of Us blended its narrative and gameplay so well that it reached that level of emotion in me. While the PC port leaves much to be desired, save for modding and localization, it is still leagues and bounds beyond the original PS3 version I fell in love with all these years ago.

1.Undertale - This forever changed the way I thought about games. Explaining why Undertale is amazing would require spoiling it. I enjoyed every moment of completeing this masterpiece. Toby Fox has made a lasting impression on the industry and games to come.
