It's infuriating, but no other card game compares.

I mean maybe I'm not this game's target audience, but I find zero enjoyment in dodging constant missile strikes and getting killed by 12 year olds jumping around like someone who hasn't taken their ritalin for a few years.

I think there are some cool elements to the game, like the gunsmith system, but overall I find the gameplay to be entirely unenjoyable. Maybe when the game is released in full and hardcore modes are available I will change my mind, but as of now I would avoid this game like the plague.

This game is awesome, and I can't speak highly enough about it. The gunplay is polished to an extreme (think Titanfall 2 combat - but better), and each of the weapons can feel like a cheat code if used properly. The movement is buttery smooth - so much so that I actually felt like I was running around like some genetically-enhanced super soldier. There are a lot of games with similar mechanics (wallrunning, double jumps, crouch slides, etc.), but none feel quite as good as this. Finally, the crowning achievement in this gem of a game is the visuals. My god does this game look incredible. Knowing that this is a small developer, it is truly an amazing accomplishment what is pulled off here. Every part of the game looks like it was ripped from a tech demo for a new high-end graphics card - but this ♥♥♥♥ is actually playable!

My only complaints are the length of the game, and the forced stealth and driving components. Ironically enough, the former mostly excuses the latter, seeing as the two segments I didn't like took me maybe 15 minutes to complete, but it is a shame that they were included in a game that took just over 2 hours to clear. This short length is excusable because the other aspects are kick-ass, but it is a bit of a let down because the original Bright Memory was already a short experience - one that was billed as a sort of demo for this installment. With this in mind, it does suck that we got yet another demo-length entry, but the low cost helps that pill get swallowed.

Ultimately, Bright Memory: Infinite is a worthwhile purchase, and a ton of fun to play, but it is disappointingly short. Hopefully future installments are full length features rather than lengthy demos.

Early Access Review
This game is thoroughly enjoyable, but not without faults.

The planning and weapon selection phase is a unique spin on both the CS:GO/Valorant buy phase, and the R6 Siege prep phase, which serves the game well. Unfortunately, minor things such as the inability (or at least the lack of clear ability) to swap used magazines for new ones after a successful round, prevent the process from being buttery smooth.

Gunplay is tight, and the variety of weapons provide ample opportunity for different playstyles to shine. Want to wallbang? Go ahead. Want to hold angles and pick people off? Do it. The amount of strategic options is absurd for a game this small.

The procedurally generated maps are admittedly a bit oversold in the store advertising, given that the changes are rather minimal between each game, but - and this is a Kardashian sized but - they do prevent seasoned players from memorizing exactly where to peak or place utility. In my opinion this is where the game beats its competitors, even if the process isn't quite as radical as the advertisements make it out to be.

Most importantly, the devs provide the game with constant updates, providing countless improvements and fixes to the game. Honestly, the weekly update schedule can actually be annoying at times, but I'll take a dedicated dev team over a lazy triple A studio any day.

Overall, I think this game is a phenomenal value for the price, and I think the devs have made something special. I genuinely hope this game continues to grow and improve for a long time.

At the $40 price tag, this game is great. There's solid enemy variety, cool maps, and plenty of unlockables. Sometimes the models bug out and/or clip through the map, but those instances typically only happen when there are a ton of xenos spawning at the same time. Overall, I think this is one of the most fun horde shooters on the market.

Adorable and good for yucking it up with friends.

The minimalism works well and makes the game accessible for everyone regardless of skill level. It's short, enjoyable, and made me laugh so hard I cried.

10/10

The story is mostly interesting, but the game's mechanics bog it down. The climbing isn't as polished as other games in the genre (Tomb Raider, Uncharted, etc.), and the combat is just plain boring. Perhaps I just waited too long to play this particular entry, because it does not live up to more modern games.

It's Mass Effect, and it looks and plays better than ever before. Just buy it.

Narratively speaking, this is likely the best Resident Evil game to date. It's got genuine terror, intriguing ties to previous games, and beautiful set pieces. There are plenty of entries in the franchise that have overstayed their welcome, and I think this might be the first that left me wanting more.

All that said, the game is far from perfect. The return of the first person perspective from RE7 causes some clunky moments, and the combat (which is frequent) never feels quite as polished as it should. The difficulty is inconsistent, with the intro of the game causing immense frustration, while most other parts are laughably easy. Part of the problem comes from the dev's seeming insistence on quantity of enemies over quality, causing you to feel overwhelmed during certain segments, only to give you some of the easiest boss fights known to man.

tl:dr game is good, but janky combat mechanics and inconsistent difficulty keep it from perfection.
