While I haven't played this game a lot as of this review, I'd say it is a very fun way to learn the basics of programming in a way that is visually easy to see how each step works.

Early Access Review
As of writing, I have had the game for a few months, and there wasn't a time when I didn't have fun during the game. The players in the community are typically very nice and the game itself already felt like a finished product even before the upcoming 1.0 launch. The game has an official discord server you can join which can help with finding others to play with if waiting for people to join is taking to long. The developers are very open to feedback and love communicating with their fan base. I personally cannot think of anything that is negative about this game. I would highly recommend it.

I don't remember much of my experience of this game since I played it very early on and couldn't play much since I didn't have a good PC back then. I can say that the fact I never got to enjoy this game is a shame.
I am not going to go into a long rant about me not being able to play the game now since enough people have already complained, so I think everyone involved in the production of this game get the point that no one is happy about this. I will however ask the higher ups who decided this game should be sunset one thing, please hire some developers to make this game playable again.
You don't have to have development continue afterwards, you don't even have to have servers hosted for us, just allow us to host our own servers. Give us the tools to do so and we can do the rest. You don't have to even look at this game after that, just please allow us to play the game we bought from you. Don't let all the work you and your developers did on this game go to waste, please.
If someone who has any ability to make decisions at Daybreak has read this through, regardless of if you intend to do anything about this or not, thanks for at least considering my thoughts in this review.

It is a pretty fun game. It is even more fun with mods from the workshop. The game still has a few bugs like turning in the wrong package for a quest causing you to not be able to finish a different quest. Other than that, the game is pretty fun.

I personally am okay with DLC in the game for a few decorative blocks as long as it stays only decorative blocks. I also feel not all decorative blocks in the future should be DLC. Just don't create to much of this type of DLC. I would also suggest finding a different way to fund the game as well.

(Personally, I feel having re-skins of existing blocks would be better. For example, everyone has an armory, but DLC for a fancy looking armory exists that you can pay for that takes the same components and has the same functionality as the default one in case you want to support the developers or have a different looking armory. Kind of like the weapons, campfires, etc. in Don't Starve Together or as an in-game example, the suit and tool skins themselves. I don't know if this idea for DLC would be profitable, but it is a suggestion.)

This game WAS one of my favorite games. When you actually get a game, it is still fun, but something about the matchmaking system makes finding players take forever. What doesn't help is that some features, like contracts, are exclusive to casual, and a lot of community servers are a bit different than a 100% vanilla round of TF2, meaning I can't 100% rely on community servers to fill the void.

If anyone from Valve is reading this, I genuinely hope you or your co-workers consider PROPERLY updating this game again. Keep in mind, I am not asking for content updates, but fixes to issues with the game. The game content wise in my opinion is fine, it just needs to be playable. Especially since you all still make money off this thing, regardless of if it is as much as your other titles like Dota 2 or not. I mean, you could at least try taking legal action against the bot hosters, that would help a bit. You did against fan creations that used your assets from a game you don't even seem to care about, so if you're gonna do that, you could at least take action against those who are ACTUALLY trying to harm your game while you are at it, can't you?

If nothing changes, and we just keep getting minor updates that barely help anything at all, I personally will no longer be buying anything from you guys again. No in-game purchases from TF2, or any Valve title for that matter, no buying any Valve games or products I don't already own (even if you were to drop Half-Life 3 itself), and ideally no buying anything from Steam if I can help it.

That will kind of stink since there are still some game companies I actually want to support because they DO care about their games, (thanks for not being like Valve right now Ghost Ship Games), but if supporting them means giving you a cut of the profits when you treat games you still make money off of like this, well, I just am not sure I can justify those purchases.

If anyone else who cares about this game reads this, I genuinely hope you at least consider doing the same thing. I get maybe no Steam purchases is too much for some, it might even be a little much for me admittedly as explained above, but surely ignoring stuff from Valve directly is feasible for a lot of you. Plus surely if you need new games you could instead look at the games you bought but never played. I know I have some to look at.

I really didn't want to change my review to this, but I'm tired of having the previous one up when it is pretty much a lie now. Maybe one day I can change it back to the old one, maybe typed a bit better since it was kind of lame. I was in my teens back then, and had a harder time writing down my thoughts on topics at the time. I want to delete all this and change it back to that single line of text, but I don't see myself changing this review back anytime soon.

I hope I'm wrong.

Original review below (Parentheses added 4/22/2021 7:41pm):

This is one of my favorite games. It is fun and awesome. It is a great game and has kept me playing.

(Well, until the bots attacked anyways.)

Best game and one of my favorite game. It is awesome and good for getting your brain going, especially the community made test chambers which allow it to be worth playing even after you complete the singleplayer and co op campaigns.
