Technical issues:

Input reader)

-If you play a shoto, get ready for the "Magic DP". In this game, if you do a fireball (⬇️↘️➡️+P) and then do another fireball (⬇️↘️➡️+P) . Even if you end on forward you will get a dragon punch (➡️⬇️↘️+P). No reason why, you just do by design.

-The input are stored for way too long. The game will throw out random moves because it stored the input for too long. Too long to explain all the pitfalls of this but it make the game unbearable.

Balance:

-DJ, JP, Ken, Luke, Juri are OP and need to be toned down. Capcom decided we need to wait a year before we get a real patch...

Game Mechanics/Design:

Drive Impact (DI): It is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unbelievably boring. Feels antithetical to neutral. It's not well designed or a fun mechanic. I wish it wasn't there but I have to put up with it but that's the least of it.

Throw loops: No one likes them. They are not needed. The corner is already terrifying and punishing as it is.

Drive Rush (DR): It would be fine but it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ eats you inputs. Its a well known issue and they literally have said nothing about this at all. This feels terrible and needs to be fixed. Don't tell me they can't, they can figure it out.

I previously warned PPL to stay away and that stands. There is work to be done to get the game to a great state but for some reason they chose to not too.

There is a great game in there but Drive Impact is the worst implemented mechanic, and can be handled way better than it is was. Personally the simple fix to make so if your not on burn out and block it make the opponent punishable on block and no push back so your in their face. Make it so they have to be thoughtful in using it. Leave it as is if you are in burn out.

To Capcom: The management of the content output and the choice of not balancing for a whole year is managerial malpractice. You do not understand what made previous entries in the series great design wise and mechanically. To say nothing of the lack of content for the main characters and the focus on avatars is wild.

Amazing game and story telling. X-Files meets...IDK Twin Peaks? Fringe? Regardless, the writing, gameplay, pacing, directing, acting, etc are impressive and this is one of my favorite games ever. Cant recommend this game enough. Buy it now!

Crashes randomly, stay away. Only game I have pre-ordered in the better part of a decade due to my high opinion of devs Guerrilla but that's gone to hell....

Update: After several patches this game is in a way better state and its a great game. Still should not have been released in the state it was.

This game is only good if you never intend to play online. Great game design wise, but netcode is cancer. Get anyother fighter other than this one if you enjoy net play. Played 5 ranked game, all 5 bars, and every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game has roll back but still "5 bar" connections. Bullcheet, invest in this games netcode capcom or get off the pot.
