Good game if you're not much of a star wars fan, and excellent game if you are. The combat is satisfying and deep enough to not get too repetitive over a roughly 20-hr story playthrough, and as a massive Star Wars nerd since childhood there were some incredible moments of fan service. Definitely some difficulty spikes and tough bosses on higher difficulties, so if that's your jam then you'll have a proper souls-like experience.

The story isn't too bad, but outside a couple emotional high/low points it mostly felt like a vehicle to get you to the next gameplay segment to me. Maybe half the characters are well-written and compelling, and there are some interesting questions the story raises about the Jedi moral code, but the main two supporting characters really didn't do it for me personally. Not horribly written or annoying, just kinda mediocre dialogue and some lost potential.

Overall, highly enjoyed this! Will definitely be playing Jedi Survivor now that I've finally gotten around to this one.

only partway through the game but it's fantastic. If you liked XCOM or similar turn-based strategy games, but got annoyed with the RNG screwing you over hard on a missed shot or random enemy spawn, Mechanicus fixes a lot of those issues. Plus, this game has legitimately the best sound design of anything I've ever played. Effects and music go so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard, and I watch the into cinematic all the way through whenever I play. Even if you're mostly unfamiliar with WH40K like I was, this is worth a look.
