Coming from a guy who's last name is also Payne, I love the Max Payne series and that includes this gem right here. Max Payne 3 stars an old washed up ex-cop who gets dragged into being a security guard for some rich cats who need protecting in places and Countries where crime is high and law and order are not to be found. I see the 3rd installment as a redemption story for Max and a perfect send off to his character and story. I wont ruin anything but this game is beautifully written. The pacing is really good and the only Rockstar game that exists that has an actual flowing story from start to finish with the same sense of urgency it conveys. Max is very witty and every sentence that he speaks is clever, poetic and downright depressing but its so well executed that you will want to hear more. All the characters and voice acting is great. The soundtracks are perfectly suited for this game and will have you pumped to dive through windows and over balconies shooting badies with style, grace and finesse which leads to combat. I love the combat. Improved from the old Max games with cool slow motion shootouts and slow motion diving is really well done in this one. You really get to see your bullets tear through these guys and I'm here for it. There are some good twists and turns in this game too if you are someone like me who always likes a good story that allows the player to think and understand whats going on instead of holding your hand spoon feeding it to you. Also I want to mention the graphics real quick and I'm happy to say it still looks stunning in 2023. Over all this is a great game that doesn't get enough attention. a Gem if you will. You should play Max Payne 3 and if you haven't played any of them well I'd say you'd appreciate the 3rd more if you play through the other two games first.
