This movie is pretty bad but it's not one of the worst ones I've ever seen. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love the Nerd and I hope someday there will be another AVGN movie.

Recommend the game review videos you can find on youtube. They're great.

Would recommend the movie with a lot of beer. Worth it in my opinion.

2000+ hours and still playing even though this game pretty much only makes me mad and ruins my mood for days.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a bad game but it's missing a lot of features Hello Games had said the game would have. Fundamentally, however, the game is what it's supposed to be. It's even pretty good as far as exploration goes, which is decent considering that is what NMS is all about. Not sure if it's $60 decent though.

-Found the game more casual than challenging.
-Would even recommend at a cheaper price point.
-Patches are working well, everthing is running smooth.
-Exploring is interesting, most planets are just dull rocks while others are quite beautiful.
-You can't fly into solar system stars let alone reach them.
-Flying is more automated than simulation like.
-Ddynamic physics would have been nice, not really important though.
-Inventory pages lumped up with upgrades just has a rushed feel to it.
-NPCs aren't really NPCs. They function just like any terminal.

Maybe if some of these features come to fruition, I'll give it a full thumbs up.

I'm going to keep this sweet and simple.

Love it. Hands down, love it. The sounds, music, artwork. Everything looks and feels right. Not overly complicated but some matches can be quite epic, lasting days. What seems to be a massive amount of interactions, choices, and dialogue; all boil down to the same type of inputs. (I'm getting at it's really not that complicated of a game to play). Think of this game as kind of a Sins of a Solar Empire meets Civilization, though, actually less complex IMO (once again). Plays like an RTS yet still feels turn based.
Price seems about right IMO but with this being Paradox, be ready for some DLC to ask for more money. Making a decently priced game a lot more for what might be so little added. Time and reviews on that topic will tell. (Snowfall for Cities Skylines comes to mind).

Things that could make this game even better IMO.
-Bug fixes and they are underway. Stuttering issue is fixed. (Thank god).
-Even more race appearance. There are just under 100 right now but I want more gosh darn it. The art and little animations add to the great feel of the game. Sure, there will be mods but I want original.
-More instances for scientific research and events. There are a ton in game as is but I've run into a few repeats.
-Finally, there are ultimately two kinds of victories you can opt for. Would be nice if we could get maybe a scientific victory, although, I guess that would work against fallen empires.

Basically it's enjoyable enough that I just want more of every aspect.

Cheers!

The future is grand. Here we are, at the end of 2015, and I can now play my favorite game of all time! There is a very good reason this game was 1997 game of the year and it wore that badge proudly on the sales box. So jump on board, I have hours of child hood that have NOT been wasted to prove how great Total Annihilation truly is.

If you liked Supreme Commander and/or Planetary Annihilation, I would highly recomend you check out the game that started it all. While it might seem a little dated, even to this day, it is still quite impressive. You see, this game was a first to do a lot of things. A true innovator. Not to mention the fantastic soundtrack, still being one of the best ever thanks to Jeremy Soule.

You should note that this download does come with both expansion packs: Battle Tactics and The Core Contingency. This is great news as the expansions have not worked on Windows without some kind of emulation since XP. I myself can finaly battle with a Krogoth, something I've not done for 7 odd years.

Most people buying and downloading this game have probably already played it, so I will spare it a rating breakdown, though it would be just about perfect score. Instead I will point out a couple bugs that I've been getting so far. I will edit this review with fixes as they come along. Feel free to comment for patches, fixes, whatnots.

-Everytime game launches it squishes all my windows desktop icons together.

-Will tab out of game to windows desktop whenever a new screen is loaded in game. Game doesn't crash though, so that if mostly fine.

-Can't side scroll at a widescreen resolution. Also not turly an issue in my mind, just changed the resolution to 1024x600

-Sometimes construction units will drop their shift queues.

-Seems like Steam Overlay might not be compatible?

Other than that the game is still the masterpiece that it always has been and the under $4 asking price is chump coin. Enjoy!

TITANS! It's got Krogoths! It's got what planets crave!

Well not so much the Krogoth as there are different Titans, all seeming to have their own (singular) function. From a satellite titan that can attack from space (and teleport), to the Ragnarok that annihilates the whole planet it's built on. Also a few land colossuses.

Over all I do believe this variation of Planetary Annihilation to be a worth while game. From a background of Total Annihilation the premise seems to be about right, even in lacking proper factions. What I mean by this is that there is not an "ARM" or "CORE" side you can take. While there are four different factions, all units under any are the same.

Some small bugs but nothing major or game breaking. Loading a large solar system in the loadout screen can take some time and my computer is what many would call "stacked". Still a massive improvement over the not Titans version. This one I will play for example, the other version; total disappointment.

Hope to see a sequel to this. Would be nice to see this moderately fun foundation of a game have more tacked onto it. Such as better textures and realistic planet explosions (not that this rendition looks bad or the explosions not epic). Maybe even a tech tree, more variation of unit types, more celestial objects, or even bring back the "ARM" and "CORE" and their hatred fulled by over 4000 years of conflict.
