Its a good way to introduce the concept of esports to your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ friends.

I'm getting real tired of the mindset that indie devs seem to collectively have now: make "pixel art" game with simple gameplay and sell it cheap..... steam is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flodded with this ♥♥♥♥.... this game would be passable for a flash game on newgrounds..... and even then I would only give it a 2 on there because there is only 1 purpose if you don't count the fact that this game literally gets bought because people want cheap badges....

There exists good pixel art.... and good rpg maker games.... and good wolf editor games..... and good retro-style games..... my issue is it seems like steam just has like 15 terrible indie games that try to cash in on nostalgia for every amazing retro-style game that is good on top of cashing in on our nostalgia.... shovel knight, lieat, minecraft if you murder every single annoying kid that downloads a neked girl skin and creates a youtube channel only to forget about it 2 weeks later along with finding a creative way to "silence" the youtubers still milking the game to this day after the hype more than died down I'M KIDDING DONT PUT ME ON A LIST just ignore them and blow ♥♥♥♥ up, etc......

Anyways, you know the video they provide on the store page? Thats how fast this got old....I'm literally gonna get the few achivements it has and then idle/quit cycle for the last of the card drops.

Played COD fairly seriously for over a decade (stopped when Black Ops 2 patched the snipers instead of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ target finder LMGs with lazer accuracy and little recoil or the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lag comp) and I can say, without a doubt: transitioning to CS:GO as a new hobby was fairly straightfoward after getting used to mouse and keyboard for an FPS instead of my ps3 controller with MotionInJoy. Alot of our old clan's strats and thinking transitioned to csgo really easily.

What did take ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forever to get used to is recoil-control, MM being full of smurfs (silvers effectively always end up playing with bored DMG+ players because of the lack of unranked MM), grenade arches (they fly alot further in this game), smokes, the edgelord playerbase, lack of prone, lack of sprint (knife out equates to me speed walking which to be fair is probably realistic if I'm carrying like 40lbs worth of weapons and armor), and the developers breaking the game every few months (though to be fair they do take alot more feedback nowadays before ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game).

And you can make chickens follow you! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ its like having your own team of lemmings to walk to their deaths at the hands of you and a molly.

I finished it in less than a minute. Not even worth the 80 cent discount from getting a badge for a better game. I turn on the game, RUN INTO A GLITCH WHERE DEER WON'T TURN AROUND IF YOU RUN INTO A WALL, go right, play 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minigames that bring me back to the educational cd-roms of the 90's, read info I could get online FOR FREE, and I want a refund..... I'm sad that I gave money to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ developer, even if it's just 10 cents.

ORIGINAL POSITIVE REVIEW: Super fun arena shooter..... biggest problem is there's is no matchmaking system at the moment so you're stuck with random dudes that like the game enough to create a server..... AND IT ALWAYS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1V1. Area TDM is my favorite game mode but, since all 8 of the "active" servers are 1v1 or FFA servers with only 2 players and a password, I rarely have a full night playing this game. Its always just me hopping into a 1v1 server and waiting like 4 centuries to move up the queue to even play.

6/11/20 EDIT: The review is now negative. The developers have disappeared off the face of the earth (I can't even find the Reflex Discord server in my server list anymore leading me to believe that they closed it down). They ran 1v1 tournaments and never gave any of the team-based game modes any love. Now the game is essentially abandoned, sadly.... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CPMA (the Quake 3 mod that inspired some of this game's mechanics) is still getting updates as of 2019.... a free mod is still getting updates literally 19 years after release.

Diabotical looks interesting, hopefully the developers for that game think about the game modes that attract casual players that don't like waiting 3 Millenniums for a game just to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the ass in a 1v1 by a 20 year quake/CPMA veteran. Don't give this dead game any of your money.... if they want money they should've made an effort to actually attract and retain casual players rather than jerking off the 1v1 nuts until the game's death.

One of the last good CODs.... has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awsome modding community (UGX zombies).....

Activision, WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ IS THIS GAME STILL $20? EVEN ON SALE AT $10 ITS STILL OUTRAGEOUS CONIDERING THE FACT THAT ITS LIKE 8 YEARS OLD, THE COMMUNITY IS DEAD OTHER THAN THE ODD LOBBY FOR CUSTOM ZOMBIES, AND I CAN WALK TO GAMESTOP AND PICK IT UP BRAND NEW FOR ANY SYSTEM FOR $5 (USED FOR $1.50). THIS IS WHY COD DIED TO LONGTIME FANS.... BECAUSE YOU'RE STILL ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GREEDY 8 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ YEARS LATER.

EDIT: another con.... it constantly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crashes, alt-tabbing often causes crashes, screenshots often causes crashes, no I don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ want to run in safe mode, launching a normal not modded map in co-op causes crashes, crashes often require you to open task manager and try to kill it, often you can't even mouse over to task manager, you often can't even close the cod error log down to restart the game without some manuvering around your programs via alt-tabbing, time to verify game cache again, punkbuster, etc.... the game is made to break itself.

ANOTHER ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ EDIT: if you have an issue of the game constantly preparing to launch but not launching you have to kill steam in task manager and run as administrator.... then your game will work.

Hmmm..... lets see what's wrong here before I start talking about whats right: the first 5 levels are too damn slow, the next 5 are too damn slow, 90% of the enemies drop 1 orb (in-game currency), 10% drop 5 orbs, leveling up the weapon you start with costs 3000 orbs, defences cost 5000 for level one, I don't even know if you keep that upgrade forever or do i have to grind for 6 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hours with the slowest-spawning enemies to rebuy my defences, there is an achievement you can only get if you give them real money, spend real money on orbs/x2 multiplier for orbs or ♥♥♥♥ you you have to grind for hours, redundant gameplay, repetitive gameplay, redundant gameplay, repetitive gameplay, this game is basically a flash game you can play on newgrounds along with the thousands of other clones of games with this type of gameplay, grinding for orbs takes like 3 decades to even get an upgrade for the gun you start with, there are flash games like this with more fair pickups than this ♥♥♥♥, this is unaccepable even for a free flash game standard let alone the fact that its on steam FOR FREE ANYWAYS, powerups cost 1000 each (or a small grab-bag for the same price), the sampler is 2500, the powerups don't last long enough to justify the insane prices, the mouse control option is a little clunky for my tastes, and did i mention grinding with the slowest spawing enemies in video game history for what feels like hours (and probably would be)....

Now, lets talk about the good things this game does: good control, different options for control (wasd or arrow keys or mouse), enemies (while slow as ♥♥♥♥ to spawn even past level 10) are fair/balanced well enough, the conflict itself is kinda funny, its astecally pleasing, sound design is pretty good for what the game is (clone of clones of clones of a flash game), the shotgun is pretty fun to use.

Final verdict: I don't reccomend it, just go to newgrounds and look up any defense game..... this game is ok, with the completly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grind or pay up model really holding this game back for what it is. Its worth a download and a few minutes but thats it.... it got old fast. Uninstall it when it gets old, move on.

Becides the cliche as ♥♥♥♥ detective and that one guy she works with: not a bad way to come to terms with the fact that you spent $20 on a game you barely played.

GET A GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE ACCOUNT BEFORE OPENING THE GAME. you'll thank me later.... i lost 2 hours of progress because i had to quit the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game to update GFWL (aka pile of ♥♥♥♥ DRM required to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ save offline) just to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sign in and lose the progress i was originally trying to save in the first ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ place. ♥♥♥♥ you microsoft..... i bought the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, i shouldn't need to sign in to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ save..... what the ♥♥♥♥ happened to the days of just needing a game, system, and a memory card? i know, GFWL happened. i thought the product key being used was inconvenient but this takes the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cake. microsoft: a major ♥♥♥♥-up with basic game functions since 2008..... now the DRM with the xbox 72---*ahem* xbox one actually makes sense! signing in to save? what the ♥♥♥♥? i wouldn't mind it it would let me update without closing the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game without saving..... but, after losing over 2 hours of progress (and unskippable cutscenes), im pissed enough to write this review in the hopes that in another steam sale: someone will read this and sign up for GFWL and updating the program before starting the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

now that the huge negatives are out of the way: hows the game? roman is funny as hell..... scratch that, most of the characters are funny as hell. its fun to just play the story.... or ♥♥♥♥ around/cause utter chaos..... and bowling. game looks like ♥♥♥♥ (graphics look the same as xbox verson, maybe slightly better) but its fun as hell. i bought this game on a whim and it was worth it...... now i just have to restart because of GFWL. haha ♥♥♥♥ you microsoft..... now im really not gonna get an xbox one.... go ♥♥♥♥ yourselves, i'll stick to my ps3.
