I think this game currently deserves its mixed rating on steam, but that is more my issue with pricing and monetisation. The game of course has its pros and cons, which I'll outline in this quick review.

To start with the Conclusion and a TLDR;

CoH3 is a satisfying game to play and I have found it hard to go back to the others after playing it. Monetisation is an issue but purely on the game I would recommend playing it.

Starting with the cons:
- As previously mentioned, I think the monetisation is totally off, £15 for 2 battlegroups? no thanks
- Bugs are a thing, but I'm not seeing them as much as others are and I've not had any game breaking ones other than some crashes in multiplayer matches that they usually hotfixed within 24 hours
- Pathfinding on SOME units is bad, usually trucks and halftracks trying to tow units
- Vehicles instant acceleration has no defence, AT guns feel terrible and as brits don't have a good AT tank, it's big sad times atm
- As a Brits player, I do feel like balance is a bit Axis favoured atm, as German Artillery (specifically Nebels) and tanks counter what seems like a team weapon based faction, with the exception of spamming stuarts which feels cheesy to me. (Of course take this con with a HUGE pinch of salt as my ability to play and memory bias will be swaying my opinion on this)

Pros:
- Contrary to what others have said, I really like the graphics of CoH3, much easier to read the map and exciting to watch battles unfold
- Unit responsiveness and control is good, admittedly it definitely wasn't before 1.4
- I ADORE the theatre choice, early war North Africa is definitely not covered in media enough and focusing more on early war allows for more interesting vehicles to enter the game, as countries were still figuring out how tank warfare worked.
- Love the quality of life features like auto reinforce (how is spamming T skilled or fun?)
- New mechanics like towing weapons and side armour values add tactical depth in terms of mobility and positioning
- The current Battlegroups feel unique and build defining, and you CAN get them for free by grinding merit (currently way over-costed imo however)
- 4 factions base game, every other CoH has only 2
- Maps feel interesting to play, most bigger maps having multiple types of terrain to vary up where you want to focus
