Early Access Review
I have been playing this game on and off for the past 4 months. It has consistently been a lot of fun, and i'm glad they brought it too Steam so it can reach a wider audience.

TL;DR - Fun, very fluid and brutal 3rd person fighting game with rabbits and wolves, is definetely an alpha so expect bugs and a pretty good PC too run it.

This game at this current stage is basically an arena brawler with rabbits and wolves that are somewhat "humanoid", there are a number of different preset scenarios with slightly different objectives. For example, reach the coloured block without being killed, which is quite difficult when there are rabbit guards with broadswords and spears! There is also a proper arena mode where you are in an actual arena and will fight waves of different rabbits, this is random and will spawn you with either a friendly NPC or on your own and is a lot of fun.

The fighting mechanic is pretty unique and reminds of me of kung fu movies, it consists of left clicking to attack and right clicking to block and shift to duck and roll, but it is very challenging at times and looks AMAZING when you finally master it. It also shows blood stains on the characters and on the walls when you get hit against them, and sound effects are pretty good as the actual hits that you manage to connect sound very satisfying and brutal.

Yes the game WILL CRASH and yes it is a bit BUGGY, but overall the fighting mechanics are beautiful in action and it feels so satisfying roundhouse kicking a rabbit into a brick wall. The game also needs pretty much a dedicated gaming PC to run well, and i find particularly the areas with multiple guards wielding weapons to take a slight hit in frame drop but otherwise it's great and will only continue to improve as more and more content is implemented.

The best click-fest on the internet.

Path of Exile offers 6 classes (one of which only playable after completing the game) and the only differences between the classes are where you start in the passive skill tree, and how you look. The fact that the skill tree is SO BIG allows you to have endless customisablity with your build.

Some people think that the very limited respec options (You can only use a relatively rare form of currency to respec 1 point) are a negative effect on the game, but i think that it allows for better replayability as you can just make a new character if you mess up your first build.

One of the only downsides is the fact that this game has desync problems, especially in larger areas. If you are playing on the hardcore mode, then this can cause you to lose a character. Although the devs have said they are trying to work on this for the future.

So overall, if you like games like Diablo 3/Torchlight 2/Titan Quest then you should have a great time with Path of Exile.

And it's FREE!!
