Path of Exile has been consistently making changes that result in the game being less fun for about the past year and a half. From loot nerfs, nerfs to character power, buffed monsters, the archnemesis system and more, none of these changes have made the game more enjoyable for me.

The most recent Kalandra league has contained some of the worst changes so far, and the response from the developer has been tone deaf at best, resulting in the worst state of the game since as long ago as i can remember.
I've been enjoying the game since 2017, but with the trend of negative changes, I can no longer justify playing again until things improve.

Has it's flaws, but for a base CiV game it's definitely worth it.

I'm not much of a review guy, in fact, this might be the first one i've ever written. But i felt like i needed to say the following.

PAYDAY 2 started out as a great game. You act as heisters with a small group of friends in a hordemode-based shooter. All the gameplay elements needed to make it a fun experience were there, and everyone had fun.

Then it started, slowly at first: paid dlc. Now, with the first few packs this wasn't too big a deal. You paid 5$, or waited on a sale and you got some extra weapons, masks or mods. Most mods for the weapons you got were locked behind achievements. Bummer, but not that big of a deal if you didn't mind spending some time on int.
Then came the character packs, essentialy nothing more than an extra skin and maybe some new perks. Fine, 5$ more.
But they came coming, dlc after dlc after dlc, until a good 30 or so paid dlc were released. All starting at 5$ (even though some were priced down eventually).
In the end, before this year's crimefest, a new player would have to pay (at normal prices) a good 100$ to unlock everything, and even then they'd have to get dozens of achievements to get all the mods that are part of the DLC's. Pretty rediculous, but still manageable for veterans.

Then crimefest happened. Or PAYDAY:GO. Safes were added, costing 2,50$ to open each, containing a variety of skins, with some even boosting stats. Similarities to CS:GO's crates and TF2's chests were obvious. Even the layout of the art of the announcement was practicly identical. Overkill had once stated that they would not add microtransactions, but they did.
The community was outraged, and for good reason. The game, which for many already cost more than the price of two triple-A titles, just started another method of milking more money. This alone led to a wave of thousands of negative reviews, articles on the internet and massive coverage on media like youtube.

So how did the devs respond, when crimefest was over? In an AMA with Almir, producer and mascot of PAYDAY2, he said, when asked about the system, that no, they would not change it. Skins with stats would stay, safes and drills would stay, everything would stay the way it is, because, and here is the kicker: it made them more money.
If that is not enough reason to give a negative reccomendation, i don't know what is.
I once loved you, PAYDAY. Not anymore.

Amazing game, if you're looking for a game to sink a lot of hours into with a great story, this is it.
