It loves to waste your time on walking and obtaining perks that should have always been unlocked. Lacks any ingenuity, curiosity, or mechanical complexity. The wonder of exploration is not in this game, and mastery of it's elements doesn't offer any reward.

This is like Cultist Simulator (another single player card game with a top down perspective), but it brings new things to the table. In particular, you can equip your villagers with gear to alter their abilities, and many of the cards move around on their own- which can be amusing, but also annoying. Once you wrangle your animals into a pen, most of the annoying card movement ends, but i still find myself disliking the potatoes that fling themselves out of their soil and mess up my wonderful table design. I like it when aggressive cards, like skeletons or the portal, move and mess up things, but not really when it's resources popping out of cards.

It's charming in it's illustrations, and it appeals to a lot of ages/types of gamers. I'm always looking for games to recommend to players who are more inexperienced with common game mechanics (for example using wasd), and this game fits that perfectly without being condescending. Stacklands has resource gathering and management systems without being obtuse. It's a easy to control puzzle game and is well worth the money spent.

I have played from early access and every step of the way I have been satisfied and happy. I love the characters and story. Even if you're not good at games, the game progresses in such a way that you will /eventually/ get your goals. The difficulty is easy to adjust if you want to challenge/ go easy on yourself. I think it is a beautiful game, visually and mechanically.

This game is beautiful and interesting. At times it feels as though they cut bits of the story out, as the writing is brillant, but details and proper explanation are absent. Even the data codexes feel as though they left information out. It certainly makes you curious in hope you would get answers. I wish things were expanded on. I also think there needs to be more downtime moments where you arent running everywhere or fighting something. More little moments where you take breaks with your sword. Overall I think this game is better than many and it is truely an experience. It promotes experimentation and it is quite fun and gratifying. I want to share it with all my friends.
