They rolled back the bans, still waiting on the 500k DP compensation, but this is a fun game. It is a terrible port with so-so networking, but when it works it is so much fun.

The worst in time-wasting gaming! The developers want you to wring out your wallets for them, they could give a ♥♥♥♥ about making a real game. I hope they suck the hardened ♥♥♥♥ out of the fattest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crusty forgotten ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Don't play this game, have a life instead.

This game is the Flowers for Algernon of homelessness. I saw the premise, homeless and rogue-lite and that grabbed me in a humourous way. When I started playing my mood sobered as I realized this wasn't just another game goofing on homelessness:

It was very respectful of the subject matter... but it was actually really fun too.

An actual game with good mechanics, that actually made me think twice about the world and people around me. This game had a profound effect on me. I cannot look away anymore when I see someone in need and I have money to spare. I don't even care anymore if they just spend it on smokes and booze. I've talked at length with the local homeless in my area that are willing. Really, any one of us could be on the streets the next day. And the world would keep turning without a care.

That's why games like this are important. Keep up the good work devs.

As for the game
gameplay: 8.5/10
fun roguelike experience, could maybe use some more stuff for higher level players. Perhaps after a certain level you also start unlocking additional hazards in addition to beneficial stores and shops.
Sound: 9/10 well scored and immersive soundtrack that pulls at your heart and sucks the hope out of you effectively and dramatically.
controls: 7.5/10 sometimes you can misclick and get locked into begging in front of a cop but overall the controls are solid
replayability: 9/10 its a proper rogue-lite.

Probably one of the better cardd games out there. Just sad that it hasn't gotten as much love as it deserves from the devs. Ankama booched S3.

This game is not Factorio 2. That's ok. It's its own game. It's more of a puzzle/tycoon game than a factory game. I think most people are upset because they were expecting FACTORIO BUT 3D, but factorio already exists, and this game existing doesn't detract from that. I see a lot of people mad that X part doesn't behave like it does in factorio. You can still play factorio, but sometimes you know you don't want to go to a 5-star restaurant and get all dressed up for it. Sometimes you want a quick greasy burger from the corner diner. Automation Empire is that burger. It is still good, it just does it's own thing. Things work the way they do in AE in order to get you to upgrade and improve your factory.

-Controls may be a bit confusing at first but by your first hour you should have no problem getting things to work.
-Feels really good when you find new ways to improve your efficiency, just like Factorio.
-No music but who listens to game music these days?
-Very relaxing gameplay. People complain about having to tear everything down in a factory to improve it, but I find it zen, like making a sand mandala. You have to wipe away what was previously there in order to make something better. Besides, even remaking your biggest factory only takes about 2-4 minutes with how easy it is to place things down in Automation Empire. There are no ingredient costs, just $$$ costs and you get full refunds when destroying buildings.
-Devs are going to be adding more maps and updates.
-Drones are dumb but eventually you won't need them/be using them. Clawtrain truckloaders and the Freight train help massively in this regard.

Overall I'd recommend it. If you're still unsure, here's the shortest possible review I've found with gameplay in it so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVGVG7AmTsk

Followed this game heavily but I feel as though it was abandoned by its devs before it became something truly great. As it stands, shallow DF clone, would not reccomend.

This game is for those who value gameplay and fun over cutscenes, QTEs, and shiny graphics laden with bloom.

If you like B-Movies, if you like third person shooters, if you liked Phantasy Star Online, Diablo 2, or Dynasty Warriors 4 you will like this game.

This game fixes a lot of the problems with the original and ends up being a really solid time, especially if you play with friends/online.

EDF! EDF! EDF! EDF!

Probably the best game on Steam right now, but morons may have a problem figuring out how to use some of the weapons
