I watched youtube videos and played with all four characters. I found the Cleric the most survivable and that isn't saying much. If you don't play on easy you can't save in dungeons. My character would use up all mana and health and run out of any option but return to town to rest. This costs money and all bad guys await you again when you come out. Monsters you cannot beat are everywhere in every area. This design approach just becomes tedious and not much fun. I played a character up to level 4 and found groups of level 3-6 awaiting me in an adjacent area. I didn't pay much for it and got my moneys worth but this one is headed for uninstall.

I played the dickens out of these games years ago so I had to try this remaster. So far, with seven characters in progress, I have had only one crash to desktop when exciting an area. The graphics look pretty good for such an old game. So far my most advanced character is a level six wizard so I am still in chapter one with all my classes. At least to this point I can verify smooth performance in Windows 10. I am having a blast and I can recommend this game to D&D fans. I still have all my old game guides which has helped since online guides are sparse. I can recommend the Character Creation Guide by asimpkins. I'm loving it.

With Win 10 running I was crahing on saves even with compatibility on XP Service 2. Forums had great guidance on settings in configuration folders and now running 1920 X 1080. XP Service pack 3 directed by compatibility test run. Also disabled Steam overlay. A great old game. Amazing how impressed with the graphics I was back then. Less than a dollar and an hour tuning the settings and I am running just fine. Time to dig my old game guide out of the attic.

Lots of support available on youtube and the Steam workshop for this game. Finally won the tutorial and enjoyed the game a great deal...a good testament from an RPG guy. A game can get big, complex and filled with: I don't know what the heck is going on here, moments. Dedication is required. I found the time flew bye as you did just one more turn.

I seldom do a review but this game screams for one. This is a real treasure for Torchlight 2 and Diablo 3 fans. Considering the price it is a steal. If you like RPG this one fires on all cylinders. I am having a blast and can't stop trying out new characters. I am running graphics on High to Very High on my 780TI and all is smooth. Game is beautiful.

Be aware I had a difficult time getting the game to initially start up {Windows 10}. If you get a black box run the repair.exe in: C:\Program Files {X86}\Steam\Steam Aps\ and open the GRIM folder. Worked fine after clicking the repair icon.

I have run a "bunch" of characters through this game since 2007. I reordered on Steam since I can no longer get updates for my hardcopies (what the heck...$5 for both). I did have trouble starting the game on my 8.1 system but initiating with the "play" button on the Steam site (rather than my desktop icon) solved the problem. Game now starts without trouble even using my start icon. Options menu allowed adjustments for my widescreen and the game looks great. I think it looks better than Diablo. Lots of loot. Nice little story. A game that has held up very well. One of my favorites.
