A timeless MMORPG that brings Tamriel to life – still thriving in 2025.

Total CP Score: 130.5 / 150
Final Rating: 8.7 / 10 (Recommended by CRIT Picks)

Elder Scrolls Online successfully brings the rich lore and expansive world of Tamriel into the MMORPG genre. With a flexible character progression system, engaging PvE content, and constant updates, ESO continues to impress players even years after its release. Whether you're a long-time Elder Scrolls fan or a newcomer to the series, ESO offers an immersive, dynamic experience that’s still relevant and fun in 2025.

Highlights:
• Rich storytelling with tons of lore and questing, perfect for Elder Scrolls fans
• Highly customizable characters with a robust skill and class system
• Huge, open world with varied environments from lush forests to desolate deserts
• Engaging PvE content, including dungeons, quests, and world bosses
• Large-scale PvP in Cyrodiil, offering dynamic and strategic battles
• Regular content updates, including new expansions, dungeons, and events
• Free-form crafting system that allows for deep player customization
• Expansive and immersive multiplayer experience with a thriving community

ESO’s greatest strength lies in its ability to create a truly open-world experience, with the freedom to explore and complete quests at your own pace. The game’s ability to offer solo content as well as large-scale group activities means players can enjoy the game whether they prefer playing alone or with friends. With the recent expansions and regular updates, ESO has managed to remain fresh, exciting, and rewarding.

What could be improved:
• Combat can feel repetitive after long sessions, especially in PvE
• Some classes and builds can be overpowered in PvP, requiring balance adjustments
• The user interface can be cluttered and overwhelming for new players
• Some content (especially older DLCs) feels slightly dated compared to newer expansions

"Rich storytelling with tons of lore, perfect for Elder Scrolls fans" Every story is: Daedra wants to destroy or rule tamriel so we fight him cuz we op af and win. Lore is...meh

"with a robust skill and class system" the skill and class system are pretty garbage and boring

" Engaging PvE content" given the combat feels mega boring. but there's lots of content yes

"Large-scale PvP in Cyrodiil, offering dynamic and strategic battles" large scale pvp with awfull performance the servers can't handle it. Dynamic and strategic battles? You are joking right?

"with a thriving community"i wouldn't say thriving lol. It's also easy to get banned in the game, with ai chat systems,so people don't feel like talking to each other ingame

"Some classes and builds can be overpowered in PvP, requiring balance adjustments" no no,pvp needs to F go away If they can't separate it from pve

The games alright tho, Especially if you just want to relax. But let's not pretend it is a Sea of happiness and joy

In what way is it good for one's mental health problems? Serious question, as I'm not familiar with the game.
