Addictive game of exploration and puzzles. Lots of secrets and upgrades to collect.

It has just enough jank to let you feel like you're cheating a bit if you try hard enough, without actually feeling buggy. Most of the time if you manage to climb somewhere you think you aren't supposed to be able to, you can find a reward waiting for you.

The game deliberately refrains from hand-holding in many ways. There is no in-game minimap or map view, so you have to actually remember the lay of the land and navigate by landmarks using your own brain. The puzzles do a good job of teaching you the basics when introducing you to something new, and then they become more about letting you figure out how you're supposed to approach them. Some puzzles require a little outside-the-box thinking.

In case you manage to get yourself stuck somewhere you REALLY shouldn't be, the game keeps a bunch of backup saves in AppData/Local/Supraland/Saved/SaveGame

Early Access Review
As much as Smashmuck Champions might look like another DOTA-clone, it really isn't. The pace of the game is much closer to that of a team FPS game, just from a top-down view with MOBA-style champions. There is no in-game farming, money or levels, so there is no runaway snowball effect. There are multiple game modes, including versions of capture-the-flag and capture-and-hold. Games usually last between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on the mode.

I've been playing since March, and I'm still enjoying it and still learning new tricks. The game is still in development, and the dev team is very involved in the community. They pay a lot of attention to player feedback, and have weekly live-streams where they discuss what they're working on and what they have planned.

Check it out!
