This was clearly rushed out in a short amount of time as an excuse to charge for cut content (strand) from the previous expansion, yet they're charging more than they've ever done before

Poorly written, hipster-pandering garbage.

The plot has more holes than swiss cheese, and the characters are unlikable, bland, cliché archetypes, that go through zero character development. The references are outdated, and the dialogue is laughable. The ending leaves you with two choices that both make all your previous decisions throughout the game pointless. Furthermore, as there's essentially nothing going on in the gameplay-department of Life is Strange, it is completely pointless to play.

Without a doubt one of the worst games I have ever played. Steer clear.

Gameplay is very fluid and satisfying, however it only takes a few hours to beat. I made it to the credits in 3.9 hours on my first playthrough, without going particularly fast. This wouldn't be a problem if these hours were spent on consistently good content, but the lackluster level design ruins the replayability. While it starts off pretty decent, the level design very quickly starts to lose steam. I'd say only about 25% of the levels are actually any good, with the rest ranging from decent to lazy.

A while into the game, the focus gets shifted more towards puzzle-platforming than action. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I am not a fan of how it was executed. Making the tiniest mistake in these segments will bring you to a complete halt, disrupting the flow of the game, as well as likely making you lose your combo. While this does serve as a way to punish the player for messing up, I think it's too punishing, and makes the game overall less fun.

tl;dr: gameplay good. leveldesign lackluster. replayability low.

I just like this game for the story

this is one of the greatest games of all time, but its almost completely unplayable because of the rampant bot infestation on every server
