HORRID update dude. you nerfed ALL other heists just to promote the rotation of them, so people cant just grind cayo.

new heist sucks and is buggy. YOU PUT GATES ON THE SEWERS?

new shiyu sucks, every new boss is almost entirely a shill boss which is affecting DA.

im tired of every new female design being "super ultra cleavage with short shorts and tight strap around thigh"

2.8 through 3.0 have had that very interesting story i felt was there around the start of the game, but that cant really be said for the rest of 2.0 imo.

roscalifer has booty butt performance and im averaging 40-50fps on 4k high w dx11

overall im not a *huge* fan of the direction the game has been going in recently? feels very cash grabby and unoptimized, even for a gacha game. that being said, overall its still very fun. if you are strictly f2p its also somewhat fair.

Visually, this is a great game. Like seriously, Scorn is nothing short of an interactive art piece. Being able to pull themes from the environment about the corruption of advancement and the greed of society makes this experience undeniably though provoking, if not simply beautiful.

Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. The gameplay itself is lackluster, the combat is clunky and boring, and the story is almost non-existent.

In terms of gameplay, all you get are puzzles that fall into the category of "frustratingly long" or "something a child could complete with ease." Combine this with the walking-simulator feel where objectives require you to navigate unidentifiably similar passageways back and forth to progress, and you start to think the game is trying to waste your time.

Combat isn't fun either. When an enemy appears on screen my first thought ended up being about the tedium I was going to experience, rather than being excited for the fight. There is also a resounding lack of mechanics. You only have your primary or secondary weapon. There is no dodge, no parry. There is no melee, and there are no finishers. Thankfully third party cheats/trainers exist so I could just flip a switch and not have to worry about dying over and over or spending lots of time dealing with these enemies.

The story also isn't really present. Truthfully, there is only so much you can do in ~4-6 hours with no dialogue, no pickups/items, and no NPCs (that aren't a mutated white mass), but even then it feels lacking. Without getting into spoilers, you really get a feeling at the end of the game along the lines of "that's it?" Also, it's worth mentioning the artbook here. Funny enough I learned more about the environment and atmosphere in the 45 minutes I spent looking at the artbook than the 4.5 hours I spent actually playing the game. There are plenty of things that are only explained in the artbook that you could only understand by reading it. Even then, there are also lots of things that are left completely unexplained; notes in the artbook state that the authors and directors wanted it to be this way, I assume to be more "thought-provoking", but it wholly just feels like lazy writing and an inability to explain things though gameplay.

All of these things together make Scorn feel like more of an art-piece rather than a video game. I personally don't know if I'd be willing to complete a playthrough paying full price and without trainers.

All in all, scorn is great artistically, but not so great of a "game." The story feels lazy and combat feels like a complete afterthought. Great purchase for 4 dollars on sale, a very disappointing purchase for full price.

i understand the fact that playing and not liking an extraction shooter when i notoriously dislike extraction shooters is a bit of a "fork found in kitchen" scenario, but man this is pretty disappointing.

i deeply love this sci-fi genre and combat style so much but the fact that its an extraction shooter and has mandatory wipes just makes me not want to continue playing at all.

same map, same biome, same enemies, same mutations.

after winning your 5th game in a row because its easy, you ask yourself if getting to the harder difficulties is worth the monotony. i didnt think so, but you might.

if "place, japan" was a video game.

this really is just reskinned horizon, as per usual. lack of body kits and customization options, horrible UI, cut content, bad re-used models

funny enough the estate builder and garage builder were selling points of the game, but its so incredibly bare bones and clunky that it's not even worth using. why cant we terraform? why cant we paint roads or surfaces on? why cant we scale/resize basic objects to be wider or thinner? why does the grass clip through literally everything? why are the menus and movements so cumbersome? why do we not have any snapping or precise placement methods? why are PC keybinds so awkward?

plus, the character models are horrid and clothing customization is okay at best.

it is really interesting how this forza title was supposedly the longest in development when it seems like the same exact thing with a new map. that being said, the map is really solid and fun to look at (other than the wide as hell roads, which is to be expected at this point)

performance is also pretty eh. im not getting over 60-65fps (frame gen on) on extreme settings with AMDs best consumer card

easy skip imo if you arent really into forza or cars

genuinely a really solid game. I bought it on a whim, and do not regret it! I was pleasantly surprised for a game and dev team that came out of nowhere.

although I am early in the game, i think a larger variety of buildings and defenses would be very nice. a terrain deformation option would be cool too, but it would definitely need balanced properly so it is realistic/not too OP

genuinely needs so much polish to be worth the price.

-getting 70fps on all low settings w 9070xt
-you genuinely cannot swing a weapon in a straight line, it always will go in a random direction
-zombies in the depths kill you nearly instantly

even more so than the beta, this feels like one of those rage-bait games like getting over it and hand simulator, as unpredictable as half sword feels rn.

that being said (as of jan 8th) the devs seem to be putting out lots of fixes, which is commendable at the very least.

note: i would really like to see some sort of advantage for smaller/shorter weapons. the game really feels like the person with the longer, sharper weapon will win very quick
