I don't really know how to feel about this game yet, there are alot of good and bad things about this game but for now I'm going to side with a recommend.

The BAD:

Very grindy, you will be spending alot of time gathering materials and killing mobs.
The story is the generic "newbie will save the World" plot. Nothing new to see here.
Voice acting is also in the typical bad video game style that usually plagues these type of games.
High learning curve with unclear tutorials.
Cutscenes not skippable (as far as I know, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
Chat system is just plain dumb and borderline unusable.
Connectivity issues.

IN BETWEEN:

Boss fights can feel a bit linear
Too many optional quests
Battle fluidity

The GOOD:

A huge amount of customization for builds
A nice variety of weapons with different play styles
Environments can be used against Bosses
Different ways of taking down Bosses
Solo play is very challenging
Fighting, fighting & fighting

Conclusion:

This game shines where it needs to and falls flat in everything else. Hunting Bosses and customizing your character into some Godly Hunter is all that really matters in a game like this and thankfully it mostly got it right. As you see above I wrote "battle fluidity" in "IN BETWEEN" and that is because the mechanics at times, can feel a bit stiff and slow. I would prefer something like Vindictus' play style which is much more fluid BUT it is still good.

Not going to mention graphical stuff since all the down voters have already mentioned all that.

A direct continuation of Metro 2033, 1 year later. Since I played this right after Metro 2033, I can say with confidence that Metro: Last Light is more of the same. Besides the hilarious, unnecessary nudity this is another great story driven FPS. Although it also faces the same problems as Metro 2033 Redux but slightly improved. I also like the fact there are different endings, that gives it a bit more replay value, now I can replay it as a total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and get the bad ending.

I honestly feel terrible for not playing these sooner which is why Im bothering to write a review.

Recommended buy on sale.

Really enjoyed this game. One of the best story driven FPS games I've never played (until now).

Note: I finished the game ONLY on NORMAL/SPARTAN so far, so this is based on that, not SURVIVOR etc.

Pros:

+ Good storyline
+ Unique claustrophobic atmosphere
+ Decisions that affect what appears in-game (minor)
+ Upgradable weapons
+ Different playstyles (you can stealth or rush)
+ Alot of backstory via MEMOs
+ Great price for gameplay time (10+ hours for under $5)

Cons:

- A.I is lacking heavily on enemy humans
- Can be slightly glitchy
- Can encounter crashes that dont seem to have a fix

Minor Cons:

- Weapon choice doesn't really matter, can finish with a single rifle (Can be changed by upping difficulty)
- Not much room for exploration, although understandable being set in a Metro line.
- Many upgrades are negligible, don't add much enhancement.
- Secondary weapons are also negligible, do not need them at all.


Overall I'd highly recommend getting this, especially for the sale price for the bundle of Metro 2033 and Last Light, well worth it.

A beautifully done game. The atmosphere, the characters and the music, oh the music.... just perfection. Get the game when you can afford it, you won't be disappointed.

Pros

- Likeable characters
- Very good voice acting, especially for an indie game
- Perfect music
- Gameplay mechanics easy to grasp
- Nice battle animations

Cons

- Bosses are relatively easy to kill
- Sadly, it's shorter than I had hoped!
