it's the best fighting game released in the past decade straight up, probably the best street fighter game also. literally if you've never played a fighting game before, this is the game to play.

Ignore my hours on Steam for this game. I've been playing Realm Royale ever since it got into closed alpha, and I can tell you that this is a fresh breath of air in the oversaturated genre that is battle royale.

One of the biggest things that I applaud Realm Royale for is its encouragement of more aggressive and meaningful playstyles rather than the camping of PUBG and the turtling building of Fortnite. This is mainly due to Realm Royale's class system. You can choose from 5 different classes:

- The Warrior, a tanky bruiser class that is focused on close range fighting and enemy engagement with melee and shotguns
- The Engineer, a more supportive class that can build turrets and focuses mainly on area denial and healing,
- The Assassin, a high damage class that uses deception and invisibility to dish out high amounts of damage from either far away or right behind you
- The Mage (my personal favorite), a class focused on using their abilities to impede their enemies progress or to help themselves survive
- The Hunter, a class focused on dishing out consistent damage while also keeping their distance from their enemies

Unlike other battle royales, there is a class and playstyle for everyone, and the variety of playstyles that each class has makes fights between them unique and appealing rather than the dull camping of other popular battle royales. The gameplay relies heavily on player skill and knowledge of what a class is capable of doing. The games crafting system also counterracts the greatest issue of Battle Royale games: RNG. Instead of having to pray for a good loot drop in crates, the game allows you to craft your own legendary items and potions if you have the resources necessary to do so. The ability to also call for a mount for quicker traversal of the map is also a welcome addition and helps to speed up the game significantly. The map itself is also visually appealing and provides different biomes each with their own flair and touch.

Now while there are so many positives to this game, there are also a few negatives. For one, the game is still in alpha, so there are some bugs that you can expect to find in the game. Hi-Rez are doing a great job of fixing these bugs, but there are still some bugs in the game so be warned. The amount of items and abilities that you can get in the game are also limited, and certain spells and weapons are locked behind classes (which is to be expected). Overall though, these negatives are mainly due to the fact that this game is still in its Alpha stage. When its fully polished, I expect that this game could very easily beat the likes of PUBG and Fortnite due to its fun and refreshing gameplay that isn't halted to a screech due to overly defensive gameplay or cut and dry mechanics.

An actual classic of the FPS genre. Wasted hundreds of hours of my life playing this game, and I can say that it was all worth it.
