What is it with prog rock fans? I swear, these people are the least pretentious people that have a god complex. Literally say one thing about your favorite band, like Led Zeppelin, and they will instantly start talking about how Rush is better. But they aren’t pretentious because they know they are at the bottom of the totem pole, but they also know their ♥♥♥♥. You can ask them to name every guitarist in prog rock, and then they will name every band, along with every band member, not just the lead guitarist.

Or let’s say you mention Yes, and then they become a marine biologist, talking about Schindleria Praematurus and the topography of an ocean. Or they talk about basic rock formations and edges and being close to it. Like dude, I don’t care that some dude named Jon Anderson lived close to the edge and down by the water. If you even mention Pink Floyd, they will tear you to shreds for not knowing the stylistic differences in musical genres. Never get in an argument with them, because they will start jerking off Robert Fripp and his crosspicking, and say that no other group can amount to one member of King Crimson.
