Honestly, I'm not gonna put a lot of effort into explaining why I love the game so much, but I will say the following things.

I can understand the combat wouldn't be for everyone, but honestly comments about it being grindy aren't really true anymore.
The storytelling is pretty flatly amazing, and to people mad at the ending, they did something sort of similar in Lobotomy Corporation, and also the "ending" is an epilogue, the actual ending and climax comes right before that, but I don't wanna give too many spoilers. I can understand why people would be disappointed, but I thought it was appropriate and I'd definitely say it wasn't game ruining like some of the recent reviews seem to think.
EDIT: They completely scrapped the part of the ending I was talking about due to pressure. I personally miss it, but appreciate that we got even more content that, while I didn't think it was necessary, I had kind of wanted.

Voice acting is only in Korean. I'm generally not very fond of dubs, so this is perfectly fine for me.
The music is just great, can't say much more really.
Art is pretty great too. Some people might be off-put by the sort of stepped animations it does. I heard it phrased "It's like you're pushing figurines around a board" which is actually pretty apt. It's still great though.
Does it have some optimization issues? A few, but nothing horrible, certainly nothing that bothered me.
EDIT: On further consideration now that I'm a major modder for the game, it runs perfectly fine on most machines but on lower end machines it does have some optimization problems, particularly memory consumption problems. There are mods to fix a few of these, including my own. For the most part there still isn't really anything that bothers me from a pure player's perspective except for how inefficient basic skin mods are though.

Anyways, I'm basically saying the game is great.

Addendum Nov 26, 2022 @ 7:49PM:
While the modding field for the game is great, the official tools are only about half finished and you have to rely on yourself or the community for the rest, as well as advice.
Don't let this completely scare you off, since basically there's a medium barrier to get started, but once you get to that point the difficulty levels off unless you want to do some significantly more complicated things.

Current play time is largely inaccurate since I spend a lot of time testing rather than playing, often leaving the game open in the background as I code more or discuss things.

Why haven't I recommended this before?
This is a great game for people new to RTS games, or like games that are long, but that you can do under an hour or so.

This game is fairly easy to learn, and improve in. The gameplay is remarkably balanced, so don't expect anyone to be complaining about how overpowered a unit is other than possibly artillery.

Disclaimer: If you played Supreme Commander 1, or Forged Alliance, statistically you are unlikely to like this game.

A definite personal favorite of mine, I'd suggest it to just about anyone.
