It's so easy to see how this has the rating that it has on Steam - what on earth did they do to this game? I've purchased more than 8 different versions of Football Manager, but I won't be buying this one. Way off the mark.

Project Gorgon is one of those games where the rough edges are actually part of the appeal. Yes, it can be janky at times, but that's just part of the charm.

It feels like a game that prioritised interesting systems and player freedom over polishing every surface to perfection. Animations look weird, some ♥♥♥♥ behaves in unexpected ways but that gives the game personality rather than making it just feel like some AAA studio regurgitated content which is sterile.

There are no rails, you don't get pointed to your next objective so you will actively use the 'Help' channel to seek guidance, no matter how long you've been playing. You're encouraged to explore, experiment and figure things out. That in itself is a design philosphy that makes discoveries feel meaningful in a way that most modern MMO's have lost.

What stands out to me is the fact that there is still so much potential left in it. There are plenty of little things that can be improved or refined, and if/when they are, the game will only get better over time. It's got a great foundation.

In short, this game isn't trying to compete with big-budget MMOs.. it's simply doing it's own, strange thing, and if you enjoy exploration and experimentation, then it's absolutely worth experiencing.

Updating my review because I've had a chance to play it now:

I've seen some dark days (get it) in gaming, but none as dark as the moment I downloaded this sorry excuse for a mobile cash grab, ported to PC.

Darkest Days isn’t just a bad game—it’s a lazy port, a cautionary tale of mobile-to-PC malpractice. Save your time, your download speeds, and your sanity. This isn’t a game. It’s a graveyard where good ideas come to die.

Not Recommended.

The idea of a grittier runescape survival offshoot is cool in theory, but Dragonwilds feels like it took the worst parts of classic MMO's and turned them into a game mechanic.

Just look at the melee combat - it's like trying to fight a dragon using pool noodles while blindfolded. Animations are really weird and half the time it's unclear if you're going to hit them or just doing some weird interpretive dance.

There's also the resource management side of things which appears to be a full-time job in this game. I felt like I'm constantly being told how hungry or thirsty I am and these meters seem to drop faster than my motivation to keep playing the game. Seems like I can barely take five steps before my character acts like they've crossed the Sahara barefoot.

I'm sure there's the potential for a good game buried somewhere in there but right now it's a frustrating mess of weird priorities and clunky design.

2/10 - would rather fist fight cows in Lumbridge.

I would strong recommend against anyone purchasing this game right now until they release either:
a) information on server status and/or uptimes
b) provide any evidence of server uptimes

There are countless threads on reddit and many other sites of people only being able to play 1-2 days a week before the servers crapped themselves. 1.5 hours in and now I, nor any of my 4 other friends, are able to host or connect to a game. There is no information in the game to advise whether this is for scheduled maintenance, an outage, or something else.

For the hour that I managed to play before the servers died, it seemed cool - but for a game that you'd end up waiting to play rather than playing, there are other games more worth your time and money.

If you’re a fan of open-world RPGs that emphasize realism, deep storytelling, and immersive role-playing, then Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a game you need to experience. It shares similarities with games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in terms of an expansive world and player freedom, but where Skyrim leans into high fantasy, Kingdom Come is a grounded historical experience. It’s not The Witcher 3 either—there’s no magic, monsters, or supernatural elements—just a meticulously crafted medieval world based on real 15th-century Bohemia.

The graphics are breathtaking, especially when exploring the countryside, villages, and castles. The attention to detail in architecture, clothing, and even daily life is remarkable. Combat is complex and skill-based, focusing on realistic swordplay and stamina management rather than arcade-style action. It’s a game that rewards patience and planning over button-mashing.

Why My Vote
I’m voting for Kingdom Come: Deliverance because it delivers an incredibly immersive and rewarding experience. The graphics are stunning, making every town, forest, and battlefield feel alive. The lighting, weather effects, and environmental design bring medieval Bohemia to life in a way few games can match.

It’s not an easy game—it demands patience and skill—but that’s what makes it so rewarding. If you love immersive RPGs with deep storytelling, realistic combat, and a stunning medieval setting, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is absolutely worth your time.

Pre-review Comments:
If you're a fan of games like Minecraft, 7 Days to Die and/or Project Zomboid then it might tickle your fancy. Not exactly a like-for-like but enough of each to make it interesting. Also, as a person who grew up with the Half-Life series, the environmental inspiration is really cool and nostalgic

Why my vote?:
The game feels good, rewarding and the story line (aside from some weird voice lines) is good to follow and actually requires you to use your brain a little bit. Nostalgia was a big part of me trying it out originally, but I'm also really glad that I did.

Graphics, Gameplay, Other:
It's not 4K quality graphics, but it works - the fact that this is an early release game and feels better and more complete than some full release games speaks volumes. Great work by the Developers.

There are class traits you can take, with different impacts on your game (food consumption, toilet usage (yep lol), and also research that is user-specific but can be shared (either singularly or with a tool later to share brain knowledge).

Crafting can be slightly tedious at times but when you get further into the game the storage and distribution tools make it really easy to get sorted. They've also made it so that you can see what parts are missing from a craft and pin a craft to be more visible as to what components are required.

Overall:
Honestly, a great game - I'm looking forward to further updates and would be interested to see what else they can come up with. I give it a 7.5/10!

Pre-review Comments:
I'll start by saying that initially, from watching streams, I didn't think that this game would be for me. I was encouraged by friends to get it and give it a go, and honestly, I haven't looked back since. There are some issues relating to server capacity, but as someone from Australia, if you're playing after 5pm AEST you'll generally have no or very little issues connecting.

Why my vote?:
There's something about this game that just clicks and just the fact that there isn't health bars and numbers being plastered all over your screen just screams to me hold the button down and "kill everything with more than two legs, you get me?"

Graphics, Gameplay, Other:
The immersion is great, the sounds and visuals both absolutely amazing - Developers should really take note of how you can make a game appear seamless, and include a way of having a loading screen inside what feels like the players moving and/or being a part of it. Not just a fade to black, a quote, and then a loading screen.

It's action packed, good variety and has a progression based system. There are several ways you can build your group to combat different scenarios you'll encounter, and there are generally team-based ways of approaching certain enemies. Unlocking new gear is straight forward, without any necessary complication, however there is the option for microtransactions for skins which some might consider to be a negative.

I found the Strategem system to be a bit finnicky to begin with, particularly not being able to move while doing it, but after awhile it fits the purpose.

Overall:
Absolutely worth the money - remember: "The only good bug is a dead bug.". If the Developers are able to continue adding planets/biomes, new races and/or challenges then we're witnessing something truly beautiful being made.

The environment, for the most part, is beautiful - they've done really well with making you feel like you're in an actual forest. The sound, aside from the random echoing of the enemies and the weird triangulation, is really nice - I love the sound of the snow at your feet as you're making your way around.

The crafting system doesn't seem to have changed that much from the first which means it's pretty straight forward in terms of getting yourself set up.

My biggest problem with this game is the AI in the enemies - they have one or two attack animations that, once you understand, you can dodge most of the time and, if you're playing with another person, you can usually safely avoid them consistently. The enemies cannot swim, so players can constantly cheese countless enemies by making them attack you near water where they fall in.

Another issue is the glitching when placing objects down - I can now place a log and teleport myself out of the map, into a huge pool of water underneath everything. This needs to be fixed.

Overall, it's not too bad - if you don't follow any guides to find the items, there's a good chance that you get a little confused and/or disorientated when navigating around as there are lots of pointless (lol) points of interest and then you might randomly stumble upon a cave that offer you items that allow you to progress.

I'll say No for now, but reserve the right to change it to a Yes later.
