Chill and relaxing puzzle game. Only problem is that it is bit short so get it on sale. Would recommend in between breaks from Factorio to repent for your sins of mass environmental destruction.

Simple yet addictingly fun. Reminds me of the glory days of Ikaruga and Touhou. Would recommend even at full price for a trip down memory lane.

As of review, Game does not support ultrawide. You are required to install mods or adjust config files in order to play in ultrawide which disables achievements/other features.

DO NOT PURCHASE IF USING ULTRAWIDE monitors.

Factorio: What time is it?

This is one of those games that scratches all the right spots. Most early access games I’d never recommend and generally avoid. Additionally, there are few games I'd recommend to purchase at full price. However by some odd miracle (probably desperation), I bought this game one day to scratch that urge for a decent base-building game. First time playing and I’d suddenly spent an entire night playing without noticing until the morning birds were chirping.

Build a base, find resources, fight off attackers, rebuild base for optimization and efficiency, expand some more, protect your base…. While the game looks simple and straightforward, the depth is there. You might consider Satisfactory, but if you want a game that at its TRUE core is about automation, base building, and automation, Factorio will blow everything else out of the water (as of this review).

The only flaw is that there is not enough time in a day to play this. Also, apparently humans are supposed to sleep and eat. Who knew.

TL;DR: Highly recommend. If you like base building and min/maxing production. This. Is It.

SWJ:FO: Saddened by the fact that I enjoyed this more than the Sequel Trilogy

Fallen Order is honestly the most refreshing video game that the Star Wars franchise has gotten in a long time. Combining the action-adventure style of the Tomb Raider series with the Dark Souls like dodging/parrying set in the background of the Star Wars universe made for an enjoyable experience. The thrill (de/re)flecting blasters, Force pushing Troopers off cliffs, beautiful scenery backdrops, and the ever solid Star Wars music never gets old while you set out on your Jedi self-reflection journey.

While I do praise the game for being a breath of fresh air in the stale ‘Star Wars’ franchise, it is sadly just an average game. Don’t get me wrong, it was a solid game, but everything just hit the average mark and then left you wanting more. The story is the same generic one we’ve all seen before, with some odd character development decisions that felt abrupt. The gameplay mechanics are a bit clunky/odd at times. The optimization on PC, while not the worst I’ve seen, does distract and detract from a combat system that requires timing on higher levels. The lack of a fast travel option in a game that requires intensive travel for cosmetic upgrades is also a very annoying downfall (but seeing that there is very little replay value, I can see why that was done).

In the end, I would still recommend this game to people as it really is still a solid, fun action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe. It took me roughly 25 hours to 100% the game on Jedi Master difficulty. Considering how well-rounded this game is, I’d almost even consider buying DLC *gasp* for this game out of respect for how well/un-tainted the devs were working with EA.

TL;DR: Solid action-adventure game if you’re itching to play a Star Wars game.

Subnautica: How deep is the ocean?

Yes, the plot of the game is one that has been told many times, but the true beauty of the game is the freedom to explore and survive on an aquatic planet filled with a wide array of diverse biomes. The gameplay isn't the hardest and is pretty linear in terms of crafting the next better tool for your survival. However, the game really excels and shines in setting the tone of surviving in an underwater environment. The diversity of each location you visit, the feeling of submerging into the pitch dark depths of the sea hoping the noises outside are due to your submersible’s hull creaking, whilst scanning the radar for sea monsters, is all captured very well by the publisher.

For me, the only downside to this game, as of this review, would really be the odd physics/graphics issues which at times can be frustrating. For example, odd vehicle bugs; clunky land movement; and, most importantly, the immersion-breaking popping/loading of textures that befouls the beautiful, yet mysterious oceanic atmosphere.

TL;DR: Would recommend, if into survival games and want to look at pretty sea creatures/environment.
