Early Access Review
In a sea of 'Simulator' games this looks at first-glance like another quick-and-dirty asset flip, but it's actually quite well made and the gameplay itself is great fun. It doesn't take long before you're running around at manic pace putting out various fires in your park and expanding your empire to lure in more guests, who you will then abuse with pressure washers and unceremonious shoving.

Ostensibly dull tasks like clearing trash and issuing tickets are implemented in fun ways, and the devs even took a lesson from the original Theme Park in allowing your character to ride the slides if you wish.

For an early-access game there are surprisingly few bugs. Stuff falls out of the bottom of the level occasionally and if you play for many hours, which you probably will, some performance drops creep in. NPC pathfinding is not great at detecting when a goal is simply unreachable. It'd be nice to see some end-game use for money and XP once you've reached the highest-tier park attractions and maxed out the visitor count. More staff with smarter behaviour and more abilities (i.e. notice and eject disruptive visitors) would be nice.

In it's current state, this isn't the kind of game where you assemble your own attractions like, say, Rollercoaster Tycoon. It's more about selecting prefabs to deploy and gradually unlocking more/better ones as you gather money and XP. The dev roadmap does include customizable slides, but it's really not lacking without that.

The game is worth the price already, and whether the devs do or do not deliver on the roadmap it's already a very fun little game.

With 'simulator' games currently flooding the market it's understandable to assume they're all just quick asset flips to make a quick buck. So it's ironic that this one about grabbing cash is a polished, complete, enjoyable game well worth playing.

But that's Cash Cleaner Simulator. It's fun, compelling, and even has a storyline!

If you're a tech nerd, this game has a really cool implementation of the stack data type (piles of money aren't just abstracted groups, each bill is actually simulated) that scales impressively (a room full of pallets of bills is possible and performs well). It also has a very neat implementation of UV light built into the gameplay and story in satisfying ways.

Note this review is as-of April 2025. The game is developing at pace so take this with a grain of salt if you're finding this review in some future time.

This is a great little game, but you need to know what you're signing up for since it's currently in early access. It's very much a work in progress, meaning things break often and documentation is sparse. Realistically to understand the game you need to join the dev's discord, or find a server to jump into that's new player friendly. There's a lot of un-intuitive elements right now and understanding how various things work (or are supposed to work) takes a bit of effort.

At it's core this is a sandpit simulator. Drive big virtual trucks and dig big virtual holes for big virtual money. That's all fully implemented and works well. Beyond that there's lots of work-in-progress stuff like the inventory system (a bit clunky), instructions (sparse), production chain (functional, but badly documented), and economy (kinda non-existent). You'll probably want to switch to the 'beta' updates path to enjoy the cutting-edge changes that everyone else is talking about.

There's a brand new wiki for the game that hopefully will be fleshed out and serve as a good way to understand how to play. DLC for minor cosmetics is a bit silly and risks fracturing the player base but raising funds to further development makes sense, hopefully it'll be folder into the base game when it approaches 1.0 in future.

In short, fun little sandpit simulator that's under heavy development with a bright future if the developers continue enhancing the experience and take time to polish the edge stuff that really matters.

I have fond memories of playing this game since launch - Came in really strong with an awesome winter sports theme and novel end-game mechanism with the limited helicopter seating for evac. There were things that needed addressing - Dodgy netcode and graphical glitches such as distant players and vehicles warping across the terrain, the usual issues with cheats, and lack of regional servers.

Sadly none of those every really got addressed. It seems Aurora Studios kept it's content creators working on new maps, graphics, models and such but no attention was paid to the harder stuff that needed proper coder attention.

I have really fond memories of the first few months playing this game on the original level with a ton of people also exploring and learning for the first time, but that's all gone now and it doesn't even appear to be possible to play that original environment any longer. What game there is left now is a completely different beast and doesn't capture my attention at all.
