I never played the original Half-Life so I can't make comparisons. What I can say is that this game functions very similarly to Half-Life 2, but looks slightly better in terms of graphics. Luckily Half-Life 2 has not aged poorly in my eyes, so this game looks great. If you played Half-Life 2 first but don't like the idea of playing the original Half-Life, play this instead. You'll love it.
