Despite being one finalised mission in an Early Access release, this is simply one of the most impressive and enthralling games I've played — uncompromising kinetic centrifugal bloodlust in an immediately compelling world of industry and decay among the stars. The fastidiousness and obvious love the developers wield is apparent in the smallest places — the animated dribble of a found basketball and its voxel analogue in worldspace; the slick rewind effect of F9'ing; the ornate worldbuilding verisimilitude of its mission briefing; the gentle curve of its space vessels which must rotate to simulate gravity; the visible crack upon a transparent riot shield stolen from a murderous enforcer of the Federation; how the verticies of metal boxes deform when you strike them; the nuances of so many mechanics and systems from a Deus Ex inspired locational health system to the Far Cry 2 reminiscent physicality of bandages and sutures.

And that's not even to broach the impressive scale upon what such triumphs are made — a fully simulated and contiguous vessel, inside and out comprises just the first mission. There's even a complex optional objective to destroy a patent-infringing agricultural operation across several grow pods with each having a drastic permutation asking different things of the player. Optional boss encounters that skill-check your combat prowess. Secrets galore.

Already this project's greatness is assured but the developers deserve more support. If you at all know what an "immersive sim" is or you adore the pace of combat of a Hotline: Miami — If the science-fiction worlds of a Mœbius or Peter Chung resonate in your imagination or you just love emergent systems, player-agency and being rewarded for thinking and experimenting. Hell, if you just like the sketchy and polluted and neon-lit and gritty and tragic and radiant. I urge you to get it.
