I will change this review once the devs decide to fix their game and stop releasing new features.
Stormworks still is my all-time favorite game, but I choose not the play it right now.

V1 - devs take the game out of early access, REMOVE features and create a lot of bugs.

Oh, you're unhappy with the unplayable state of the game? Here's some more features with more bugs.
Oh, you didn't like that we haven't fixed bugs and balanced the previously added features? Here more untested features to keep the money rolling in.

(FIXED) I was super excited for the modular engines update, but they're unusable. Fuel economy and temperature balance don't even come close to the appropriate balance that the old engines had. I changed one of my ships to use a new modular engine with the equivalent amount of power and torque and it uses 57x the amount of fuel? And it uses 4 5x5 radiators and 6 5x5 fluid-fluid heat exchangers, all of which are hooked up to engine-driven pumps, and it overheats at 4RPS? Wow.

The devs released an update a few days ago with "bugfixes" which they chose not to list what they fixed. They intentionally dodge all the concerns that the community has and treat them like they're invalid concerns and that we're all just stupid. All the major problems are still there. But HEY! More features coming soon!

Get a grip guys.

I've spent 500 hours in this game, mostly working in the editor. Every single update seems to break something new for no good reason, or nerf something that was fine before into oblivion. Our feedback is ignored and misconstrued.

I quit the game and left their discord shortly after the disaster of the 1.1 update. They completely trashed modular engine cooling for no reason and then the official stormworks youtube channel lied about it.

It's a real shame. This game does a lot of things well, but the developers don't give a shit about vehicle builders. Features are tacked on to appease the majority and builders are expected to figure it out and keep their mouth shut if stuff is broken, because the poor, poor developers can't fix the most basic bugs that have a serious negative effect on gameplay. Screw that, I'm going to play something else.

I hate to be elitist but if you can't see the bugs your either blind on purpose or haven't played enough stormworks

The bugs that are there aren't obvious immediately but as soon as you start trying to use the new features such as the new rotors (and engines still) you'll see that they have some serious problems and are literally unusable. Especially in career.

Absolutely keep away from them for now. I've put countless hours into messing with them just to find out they're pretty useless, super inefficient, and missing a ton of obvious features such as the impellers actually working as forced induction and such. Half finished update they threw out and apparently finished and it's "not broken" as the devs confirmed in the most recent update.

my game doesnt have any bugs as far as im aware, just 1 visual bug when i turn on wave foam, but that can easily be turned of. i was thinking about using modular engines but from what you've said, i should be steering away from them for the time being. sorry to hear youve had such a bad time with the game
